Feels like a family - Petplan Beverly Wieland from New Jersey, pet parent of a Papillion
I decided to research Pet Health Policies after a $2000. vet bill for a 7 month old puppy spent 5 nights and days in Hospital, nearly not making it. I've had a Pet Plan Policy for my sweet Abby a 4 year old Papillon ever since. Within the first three months, I had another medical expense, and entered a claim. I was quickly refunded the cost of Xrays and veterinary care after deductible. I have since added another Papillon to our family, and another Pet Plan Policy. I feel a sense of security, knowing if the worst happens, Pet Plan, and its team of fine pet friendly staffers will be there to help me. If you are not comfortable with doing everything online, you can call and get personal assistance.
VPI has been very worthwhile - VPI Laurie from Pennsylvannia, pet parent of a domestic shorthair
I have had VPI insurance for our cat since it was offered to us through my husband's employer. The first year, we had major medical and coverage for well visits and immunizations. Our cat has asthma and digestive problems. We have had testing done, and she uses an inhaler and takes medication. We have a very good level of coverage and virtually everything has been reimbursed.
All we pay is the premium.
After the first year however, we dropped the well visits/immunizations coverage as that was not cost effective. Customer service has been excellent. Reimbursements could be a little quicker, but I'm not complaining. :-) I highly recommend pet insurance, if you care about your pet.
Super-fast much-needed reimbursement! - Embrace Alice Winfree Bowron from Minnesota, pet parent of a Domestic Mediumhair cat
I am *so* impressed with my Embrace claim-processor Embracer Amanda Collins - I submitted the claim only a few *days* ago and already Amanda has processed it, approved it & sent the reimbursement into my account - WOW! And I really need that reimbursement right now. I am a happy & satisfied customer of Embrace Pet Insurance for a few years now, and this latest reimbursement is one more reason why. Thank you *so* much, Amanda!
Great deal, straightforward - Healthy Paws Rachel P from Washington, pet parent of a mixed breed dog
It's non-profit and for $30/month they cover 90% of expenses. They don't cover exam fees or preventative care, and there's a $100/year deductible. I think it's a great deal and have found them easy to deal with via email and phone. They reimburse promptly and no surprises with what they cover.
Our puppy had to be hospitalized overnight and the bill came to about $650. They reimbursed 0% of the exam fee and 90% of everything else, which brought the cost down to about $125. My wife and I have definitely had human health insurance that is not this good.
Well worth it - ASPCA Carol Byram from Arizona, pet parent of a pit bull
I have had the level II insurance on my friend Buster for maybe 4 years now.
He's an old guy at 12 now. He hasn't had too many health problems except arthritis due to old age and some skin allergies.
He has only had relatively small claims. But while getting x-rays for laser treatments for his arthritis, he was discovered to have bladder stones. Major panic. He had to have major surgery and I had to take out a loan at the credit union. I turned in the claim and they promptly covered a large portion of that. Major relief. I would recommend this pet insurance to anyone who loves their pet.
I have read some of these reviews and I would like to add that under the terms laid out in the level of insurance I have purchased, I have never been treated unfairly. I purchase this insurance mainly as a safeguard against a devastating illness or accident and my experience with this company has been that it's well worth the cost of the premiums for the peace of mind those premiums provide.
