They actually care about your pet - Pets Best Desiree from NYC, pet parent of a Dachsund
Bryn W. was very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. She answered my questions in a timely fashion and explained to me that our dog's periodontal issues were unfortunately not covered under the policy but also offered options and suggestions which I truly appreciated--She genuinely cared about helping us. I also mentioned to her how much I have enjoyed Pets Best monthly newsletters. For this Pets Best gets a 10 out of 10. Not like any insurance company.
VPI has been very worthwhile - VPI Laurie from Pennsylvannia, pet parent of a domestic shorthair
I have had VPI insurance for our cat since it was offered to us through my husband's employer. The first year, we had major medical and coverage for well visits and immunizations. Our cat has asthma and digestive problems. We have had testing done, and she uses an inhaler and takes medication. We have a very good level of coverage and virtually everything has been reimbursed.
All we pay is the premium.
After the first year however, we dropped the well visits/immunizations coverage as that was not cost effective. Customer service has been excellent. Reimbursements could be a little quicker, but I'm not complaining. :-) I highly recommend pet insurance, if you care about your pet.
NO Hassle Reimbursement - Embrace David from DC, pet parent of a Shetland Sheepdog
NO questions asked during reimbursement. The only thing I would recommend is to speed up the process. It would be very helpful to customers that had to pay up front cost. Besides that everything is great about the claim process. Easy to fill out and very helpful customer service. Good thing is I called again to speed up the process they were willing to accomodate
Great deal, straightforward - Healthy Paws Rachel P from Washington, pet parent of a mixed breed dog
It's non-profit and for $30/month they cover 90% of expenses. They don't cover exam fees or preventative care, and there's a $100/year deductible. I think it's a great deal and have found them easy to deal with via email and phone. They reimburse promptly and no surprises with what they cover.
Our puppy had to be hospitalized overnight and the bill came to about $650. They reimbursed 0% of the exam fee and 90% of everything else, which brought the cost down to about $125. My wife and I have definitely had human health insurance that is not this good.
Well worth it - ASPCA Carol Byram from Arizona, pet parent of a pit bull
I have had the level II insurance on my friend Buster for maybe 4 years now.
He's an old guy at 12 now. He hasn't had too many health problems except arthritis due to old age and some skin allergies.
He has only had relatively small claims. But while getting x-rays for laser treatments for his arthritis, he was discovered to have bladder stones. Major panic. He had to have major surgery and I had to take out a loan at the credit union. I turned in the claim and they promptly covered a large portion of that. Major relief. I would recommend this pet insurance to anyone who loves their pet.
I have read some of these reviews and I would like to add that under the terms laid out in the level of insurance I have purchased, I have never been treated unfairly. I purchase this insurance mainly as a safeguard against a devastating illness or accident and my experience with this company has been that it's well worth the cost of the premiums for the peace of mind those premiums provide.
