10/10   Unparalleled Customer Service! Highly Recommended!, 7/21/2016

A tremendous THANK YOU to Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for the expeditious handling of my claim. From the moment I signed up, I have received truly exceptional customer service. Recently my beloved cat POTUS had a urinary blockage that required a surgical procedure at an emergency vet. The final bill totaled over $2000. As soon as I received the final invoice, I sent it right over to Healthy Paws claims. In less than one minute, my claim was processed, and I was notified that a $1400 check was on the way! Even more impressive than the speedy claims process was the extraordinary efforts the HP team made to follow-up with me directly on POTUS's recovery. Several team members reached out to me via email - and I'm not talking about some automated, robot-generated message. The notes were thoughtful and specific, and gave me great comfort through a very trying time. THIS is what differentiates Healthy Paws from other pet insurance companies. I hope my pet won't suffer another emergency anytime soon, but I can certainly rest easy these days knowing that Healthy Paws has me covered financially AND emotionally. Thank you to Leslie, Colette, Jonathan, Niki, Tim, and the entire team. I will most definitely encourage all my pet owner friends to sign up - and leverage my 'refer a friend' kickback too :)

10/10   Purr-fect Pet Insurance, 7/20/2016

When Boom-Boom fractured his canine due to an accident, he had to have oral surgery to extract the tooth. Healthy Paws covered a large percentage of the procedure, which was expensive. Healthy Paws processed my claim form so quickly, in just a few hours! Boom-Boom has recovered from his surgery; he is running around outside, catching mice, and eating well. Two-and-a-half years ago, Boom-Boom appeared on the doorstep of our Tibetan Buddhist community; he was a homeless stray. We gave him a loving home, and thanks to Healthy Paws, we were able to give him excellent healthcare. By purchasing pet insurance from Healthy Paws, I am supporting their mission to find homes for homeless animals.

10/10   SO worth it!, 7/13/2016

I'll admit I probably spent a crazy amount of time researching Pet insurance companies but I know itís paid off. Once I started thinking about our dogs getting sick or severely hurt, I knew I didnít want our hesitations to be financially based. We would without a doubt spend all we could to help them, but wouldnít it be nice if we didnít have to?
Enter Pet insurance.. I did a ton of research. From pre-existing condition guidelines, hereditary coverage, lifetime or yearly caps, to hip dysplasia, I read it all. I read reviews, I called companies and asked questions, I read blogs, and I asked my vet. I receive a substantial discount through work for one company and felt so strongly about my research that we decided to use a different company (that should say something!). I didnít want ďcheapĒ insurance; I wanted reliable coverage that was a good value. I didnít want to pay a large amount each month to never get anything out of it when needed. Healthy Paws has proved to be just that and has exceeded all expectations. We now have two dogs (large mix breeds - 1 Lab mix and 1 German Shepard mix) that are 6 years old and they have been covered for 2+ years. Our most recent scenario required us to submit our largest claim to date. Our lab at a small rug (heís not even a chewer!) and it became anchored in his intestines. Of course this happened on a Sunday when our normal vet was not open. Thankfully, we have a nearby fantastic (yet pricey) emergency hospital that was able to check out our Bentley quickly. After having X-Rayís completed they were able to confirm that parts of the rug were anchored and needed to be surgically removed. We were given the estimate range of cost and signed away. 3 days later, Bentley was almost as good as new and able to come home. Two weeks later, heís currently enjoying not having to wear the cone of shame or taking multiple medicines a day.
This was not our first time submitting a claim but it was as easy as ever and we received our reimbursement around a week later in the mail. We have 80% coverage with a $250 deductible and instead of Bentleyís surgery costing us $5,500 (which was our final bill); we only paid $1,300 since we had not hit our deductible prior to this incident for the year. SO thankful as weíre about to close on a new home and would have had to reduce our down payment because of this if we didnít have insurance.
My biggest tip for those interested in having their furbabies insured is to do your research! Make sur

"Free dog." Suuure! When our "free" 9-year-old dog Kibbie fell in January, he had to have a surgery to remove his tendons and ankle and replace them with a steel plate. This month, we found out that he also cracked two molars in that fall--one of which could be bonded, the other of which had to be removed. Total cost? Without Healthy Paws pet insurance, we would have paid about $7,500.
With the plan we've got, including the $45 monthly charge for the insurance, we paid a $250 deductible, followed by 10%--$975 out of pocket for the healthcare (or $1,290 when you factor in the monthly costs of having the insurance, plus our cost for the care).
Savings so far this year: $6,210.

Thanks to Healthy Paws Pet Insurance, Kibbie is healthy and happy and we are not broke.
