Absolutely pathetic

Absolutely pathetic. I cancelled Figo after having them for 1-2 years, religiously paying my premiums for my two dogs. I submitted a claim for one of my dogs who had a small pimple sized growth on her hind leg. A month ago it started bothering her and the vet treated it, doing a biopsy to make sure it wasn’t cancerous. Because this small pimple was there prior to coverage(but the problem arose during coverage), Figo denied the claim. They are disgraceful money grabbers.

Quick turnaround

My insurance claim was processed and approved very quickly. I was really impressed with how easy it was to submit my claim and how fast we were reimbursed. We had a very stressful emergency vet situation and I'm so grateful the insurance process was so smooth and simple.

Vomiting Fur Baby

I actually went to two places to have my dog evaluated. Every time he ate he would vomit in less than 30 minutes. . He was diagnosed with pancreatitis which lead to feeding chicken and rice. After three days I let him eat his IAMS Vomiting continue so switched to Hills Science for sensitive digestion. He has improved daily. This was quite an expensive procedure but my pet insurance helped with some of the expenses.

DO NOT BUY PET INSURANCE FROM THEM!

At first, I was thrilled to get pet insurance with Trupanion (through Chewy) and the policy I purchased, which is the highest tiered one, seemed amazing. Before I purchased it, I read through all the policy documents and I even printed out a copy for reference. After I paid for the policy, I patiently waited and completed the "waiting period" before the policy kicked in and became effective. All of this took place around February (I believe) or March. After the waiting period lapsed, I proceeded to take advantage of the insurance when I had to take my dog to the vet, mostly routine check ups and vaccinations. The policy even included the ability to request reimbursement for my pet's medication as long as it met the requirements. After a couple of months, I attempted to cancel the policy because I was experiencing financial hardship and I could no longer afford the $107 plus monthly premium. When I called to cancel the policy, I was told that in order to cancel it, I would have to repay all the money I received from the claims I filed, which amounted to about $277 and change or somewhere around that. I commented that I just said I could no longer afford the $107 monthly premiums but you want me to repay $200 some back? They justified this by explaining that I would have to have paid an amount in monthly premiums equal to the amount of my claims in order to not owe anything, despite me paying the monthly premiums on time, in full, every time. In addition, I re-read the policy paperwork I printed out for reference and as far as I can see, there is no mention of having to repay all the money I received from the claims I filed. I was also told that if I didn't repay all the money back with in three days of canceling, I will automatically be sent to collections. Frustratingly, I rescinded my request to end the policy and continued paying the premiums for another month (which put me in an even worse financial position). When the next month rolled around, I ended up re-homing my dog for the same reason, financial hardship. I called Trupanion again and explained that I no longer had the dog so I won't need the policy anymore. They immediately canceled the policy but didn't mention the repayment at all, so I assumed the situation called for waiving the requirement to pay all the money back. Sadly, that wasn't the case and they've been attempting to collect from my account, but since there's no money in it, it's been declined every time. Luckily I don't get charged NSF fees from the company I have the card through (Paypal). They've been attempting to collect that $271 and change (or whatever the exact amount is) for several days now, so I decided to close that card and get a new card with a new number. I strongly urge anyone and evreryone TO STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PET INSURANCE COMPANY!!! They're just another money hungry business that does not care what your situation is, they just want their money in whatever way they can get it. DO NOT BUY YOUR PET INSURANCE FROM THEM!!!!

Emergency Cat Care Experience

The explanation of my plan was clearly communicated. I appreciated the comparison of plans to see what would be a great fit. Also, how quickly I received my refund was surprising and appreciated.

Emergency Surgery for Senior dog

My dog has been insured with Pets Best a few years...before this we had another insurer through my job. Her premiums did go up after the age of 8 but I figured that was very acceptable. I honestly considered dropping coverage because she turned 10 and had never needed any major medical. Well about 12 days ago at 6am we get up and she is totally lethargic, not stable and can't keep her legs under her. This is a complete shock and I could not figure out what happened. I rush her into Vet and her blood pressure is crazy low...they find a small internal bleed and see a mass on the scan. She was kept all day on IV to bring her BP into a safe zone/stable. The next evening I took her for surgery to remove the mass and her spleen. The Vet said it was a 20% chance benign and most likely she wouldn't have much time left with or without the surgery. We did it anyway. My baby has made it and that huge mass was not the aggressive cancer they thought! Her biopsy came back looking pretty good-and I am so grateful for this insurance. I submitted the claim and had a fully detailed breakdown within 5 business days. The refund was approximately 85% of my total cost and it was paid within 10 days of her surgery. This is better than my $800/m Blue Cross coverage. And much faster. I really want to thank Pets Best for making an extremely stressful and emotional time so much easier. I plan to enjoy spoiling my baby rotten a few more years and we are keeping this insurance!" 100%
