Mixed Reviews for Nationwide Pet Insurance
Filing a claim is easy! However, the caps on common diagnoses (ear infection, kennel cough) mean that I am not reimbursed as much as I am spending. This is spelled out clearly in my policy... I will most likely be switching to Healthy Paws for my 6 year old pup because she keeps getting diagnosed with the same things each year.

Poor customer service
I have 2 golden retrievers and pay good money for the best pet insurance including the wellness plan. In my 7 years with Nationwide I haven't taken advantage of the dental cleaning. I recently took my dogs in for an exam to check out their teeth. 1 dog has 2 chipped teeth and the other is fine and just needs a cleaning. The estimate is between $400-$600 for each dog. I called Nationwide to ask about what is covered and was not helped at all as they won't even look at the estimate. I am not going to pay over $1,000 for 2 dogs to get their teeth clean and/or extracted if i'm not getting reimbursed for at least part of it. Currently looking into other pet ins companies that will provide better customer service and actually respond to emails.

Completely a waste of money
I submitted several claims for my dog's torn ACL ( all the same injury) for cold laser therapy treatment and finally received their decision laiming it was aporoved; however they claim that the deductible was equal to or less than in the policy. So they wouldn't reimburse me anything. It was the same injury that was treated. I paid for this insurance fir over 2 year's and I discovered they offer no benefits worth my time or money. I put my cats on a different insursnce company and am quite pleased with them and was reimbursed several thousand dollars and they have much better coverage than Trupanion has. My recommendation is, don't consider this company for your pet's insurance, they're liers and crooks.

Healthy Paws is excellent!
After a lot of pet insurance research I chose Healthy Paws and I’m so glad I did. They are so friendly , caring and the customer service is wonderful! After submitting all claim information , all eligible claim amounts ( must meet annual deductible depending which plan you have) are processed so fast normally within a couple of days. Highly recommend!!

Totally worth the money!
Nationwide pet insurance has been so good to our pet family over many years. They are sincere and quick to send condolences when pets pass and they have covered many ailments of my fur kids! It is the best investment for all my pets and their health. I recommend them to all my friends!

so glad I have had your insurance for several years!
MY dog Missy was born with a growth on her belly . We have been watching it for several years and not seen changes. This year it seemed larger (and ugly). We took her to the vet for a shot and had them check the growth. They aspirated it and found results that indicated possible cancer. She had surgery the next day. The specimen was sent for a biopsy...no cancer! The insurance paid for the whole bill except for the deductible. I'm relieved to know I will have financial help when unexpected problems arise. The claim was handled within a couple of weeks.

Best pet insurance ever!
Easy to use, highly recommend it. The thing I would say needs improvement is the time it takes to process claims, takes 30 days and then some to finally get your reimbursement deposited. Other than that they're a great company and provide great service!

Very Good Pet Insurance
Pet's Best has come through for us in many claims in the four years we have been with them. Their review process is fast and the reimbursements are fair. I wouldn't think of owning a pet without insurance. It gives us peace of mind knowing that our Husky Chloe can get the best medical attention.

Very Poor reimbursement
I find the reimbursement process takes extremely long, several times after 40 days I have to email customer service and ask them to process my claim for just routine check ups. I have other friends that use different companies and reimbursement doesnt take this long. Most likely will not renew next year.

Great insurance!
I am so glad I have nationwide. Customer service is great and always helpful. Only complaint I have is that reimbursement for reoccurring claims takes a long time. My dog Is on prescription dog food and it takes about 6 weeks to get reimbursed. Other than that I am beyond happy with nationwide. I have referred them to many close friends and family!
