excellent company

Extremely easy to find info and submit claims on website. Able to customize my policy (deductible, type of coverage). Claim decisions fully explained. Calls do not go to a holding queue; reps always answer. Have recommended Pets Best to my friends and family who have pets.

Excellent claims processing

Pets Best claims are submitted easily through the app and most are processed quickly! I recently had to submit 3 claims within a week of each other. I received an email determination within a week of each submission and the money was direct deposited to my account a few days later. I’m happy that i’ve had Pets Best continuously for my dog since he was 8 weeks old.

They are NOT EXCELLENT

They are NOT EXCELLENT. they dont care at all about the health of animals. They only care about making you pay and pay and letting you go broke so your pets die. They LET THEM DIE.

BUYER BEWARE: MetLife Pet Insurance Will Deny Everything

If you are looking for a pet insurance company that actually honors its policies instead of taking your money and running, look elsewhere. We have paid MetLife monthly premiums for nearly a year, yet we have not been able to apply a single dollar of our doctor visits toward our deductible. Why? Because MetLife’s claims team works overtime to blame absolutely everything on "pre-existing conditions" to avoid paying out legitimate coverage. Most recently, they denied a claim for an issue involving my dog's foot/toe. Their reason? They are trying to claim a completely unrelated foot issue is somehow "pre-existing" based on completely generalized medical notes. It is absolutely ridiculous! They will twist any past vet visit, no matter how irrelevant, into a blanket excuse to deny new, completely separate illnesses or injuries. They are incredibly polite in their emails ("give Zuma plenty of treats!"), but don't let the friendly tone fool you. Their business model is designed to collect your premiums and deny your claims. We are currently trapped in an ongoing, exhausting fight to appeal their bogus decisions. Save yourself the monthly financial drain and the massive headache. Future buyers beware: MetLife is a massive waste of money when your pet actually needs care.

They have made the process for submitting a claim very easy and seamless. I was able to quickly upload the vet bill answer a few questions and then within a few days the payment for covered items was deposited directly into my account.

Healthy Paws covered most of my recent…

Healthy Paws covered most of my recent emergency vet visit for my Dalmatian Charlie who had bladder stones blocking him from peeing over 24 hrs. I’m very glad they covered most of that bill, since it allowed me to approve the best care option for Charlie without worrying about taking out a loan.
