Always denied reimbursement

You always find a reason to deny a claim. I filled a claim for an injury to my dog’s eye. You denied it due to a pre-existing condition. Just because he had the same injury previously does not make the claim pre-existing. Since customers pay monthly throughout the year, they should not be time restricted to file throughout that year. The 3 month cut off for filing claims is not right. If customers paid their premium in full for the year, they should be able to file for that year. How is it right to not pay a previous year’s claim? I have filed many claims I have had only $22 out of hundreds of dollars reimbursed. This is not right Nobody likes being deny claims when they’re paying their monthly bill of approximately $1500 a year. I could’ve paid for everything my pet needed out-of-pocket. Instead I have incurred the cost in addition to paying your premium.

I hate pets best

STOP RE-auditing multiple times per year. Pets Best is constantly making changes which increases the pricing and because you all are following the law, you are secretly ripping people off behind their backs. Because this is pet insurance and some of your customers fur babies have pre-existing conditions, it’s difficult to leave Peta Best to find competitive rates. We are now pigeon holed with our animals pre-existing conditions to stay with our policies Because we are long-term customers and leaving would raise the rates even higher.. What you are doing is immensely affecting your customers budgets to help their pets, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing politics and bureaucracy to rip off, loyal, long-term customers with sick pets that trusted you to help with our families in mind. Stop re-auditing your policies, forcing pricing increases constantly.

The claims were processed efficiently…

The claims were processed efficiently this time which I really appreciate. The monthly price of my policy jumps tremendously each year so I'll likely not stick with MetLife. No thanks on reaching out to customer service. I did that last year and all you did was offer to lower the coverage my policy provides.

Ripoff

After paying for Trupanion every month for 11.5 years, my up-to-that-point healthy dog had to be put down unexpectedly. She had a tumor that hadn’t been caught through regular pet exams or bloodwork. It ruptured, leading to the extremely difficult decision to let her go. Trupanion was super kind on the phone and led me to believe that a good portion of the cost of the final vet visit and euthanasia would be covered. In the end, I received a check for $42. Even though the vet visit had been an emergency, they said that it was standard care and not covered. I can’t even begin to imagine the hundreds and hundreds of dollars that I paid to this company over the years (because the cost definitely kept rising), only to have them leave me stranded when I needed them most. I have a new pup now, and I most definitely do NOT have her insured through Trupanion. What a joke.

So happy to be back with Nationwide

So happy to be back with Nationwide. I had pet insurance from them from the time my puppy first came home until March2026, which is 5 years. I foolishly left them when they trimmed down the pet insurance policy. After 3 months with another insurance I realize the value I lost. While I was not able to recuperate the previously offered premium at the time the policy changed I did get offered one that was very close. What accident and injury policy doesn’t cover labs, X-ray, surgery etc??? Thank you Nationwide for continuing to cover our beloved fur babies when they need it most!
