Extremely friendly and incredibly efficient
I truly cannot say enough good things about Trupanion and their care. In the beginning stages when I was weighing out my options, their customer service was the fastest, the most straightforward in answering questions, and answered what I asked with honesty--not trying to swindle me. I recently called regarding my pup Finnigan's diagnosis of Pneumonia (I did not intend to claim for it because I figured they wouldn't cover it) and she urged me to put a claim in. Every time I call with a question they give me all the information I could ask for and phrase it very simply. They are incredibly speedy with their processing times, it was my first claim and I had my response and money back within about a week and a half. I got everything back aside from the vet check fee (which they don't cover) and all I had to pay was my $200 deposit. The costly xrays and diagnostics and meds were all paid for. Their prices are fair and their services are clear. I truly appreciate them as a company and will definitely continue to suggest them to others.

Top Notch Pet Insurance Company With a Caring Heart
If you are looking for medical insurance for your pets, Healthy Paws is definitely is first rate in my opinion. I did a lot of research before choosing Healthy Paws a few years ago, and I settled upon this company to insure my two dogs with because of their high ratings, and the benefits that they offered was what I was looking for at the time. I am so thankful that I made the right decision A few weeks ago out of the blue, while my dog Chanel was sleeping, she woke up choking and started spitting up, and accidently inhaled some of what she was spitting up. It went into her lung and she was having a hard time breathing and her heart was racing. Since it was late at night I had to rush her to our emergency medical clinic who ended up diagnosing her with aspiration pneumonia. She ended up spending the night there, but since this diagnosis is so serious, she had to go to her own vet the next day for further treatment. Never in a million years could I have imagined something like this happening, especially so suddenly. That first 24 hours ran me up a bill in the tune of $2500. I had never had to use my pet insurance before, so I called up Healthy Paws and the representative was both kind and understanding, and walked me through the process of what to do and how to submit my paperwork for reimbursement. After submittal, representatives kept me informed by email every step of the way of what was transpiring with my claim, always telling me where my claim was at, and what to expect next. In just a little over a week I had a check in the mail and was able to pay off the majority of the money I had to put on my credit card. Then today, I received an email asking how Chanel was and checking on her progress and wishing her the best. Although this was my first time dealing with a pet insurance claim, I have dealt with many other types of insurance claims in my life, and never have I had such wonderful service through the process. From beginning to end, Healthy Paws has been there for me and came through in a most expedient manner when it came to paying my claim. I am so thankful I chose them when it came to insuring my pups, as I couldn't have asked for a better company with such excellent service and such caring people. Thank you Healthy Paws!!!

$40,000.00 saved with Life saving policy
Our beloved doberman Justice developed idiopathic epilepsy at age 3 years, 6 months. His condition has progressively worsened, requiring many expensive diagnostic studies. His medication bill alone is in excess of $10,000.00 annually. His epilepsy is now manageable, and now Justice lives a happy active life with very little disruption from the excessive seizures he was experiencing. Justice's treatment has cost over $50,000.00 so far. We would not have been able to afford to keep Justice alive were it not for the Trupanion pet health insurance policy. The premium cost around $1500.00 per year. The claims are always processed and paid promptly without any delay or problem.

Getting way way too expensive.
For a couple of years this company had fair rates for the policy. Now this year they are raising me rate by almost 1/3 or about 33%. That is unheard of in this industry. I found a better policy for far less money with excellent reviews from neighbors. So I am canceling our policy. I called the company and the customer service I talked to did not seem to care wether I changed or not. Terrible customer service.

Takes too long to be reimbursed.
Communication was really good but i felt the time in which you get a payment is way too long especially if we are sending the invoice and it is a straight cut claim nothing complicated.

Responsible pet ownership means HAVING TRUPANION!!
Trupanion gives us something that nothing and no one else can give us for our dogs and they’ve been doing it since our pups were 6 months old.; it is piece of mind. To tell you a little bit about our babies, we have two pups and they are both 7 years old. We’ve had TP insurance for them since they were 6 months old. Trupanion has helped us fight cancer twice. It helped diagnose and manage severe allergies and all that comes with that (testing and meds). It paid for THREE specialist visits when a B-12 deficiency caused serious bowel complications including vomiting blood. It paid for one amazing heart specialist, an EKG, Echo Cardiomgram, ultra sound and x-rays for our pup to find and diagnose a heart problem. It fixed a fractured and split tail due to a “door” incident as well as a torn off ear due to a doggy daycare “incident.” It’s paid for countless bee stings on the nose and face, the “guess what they ate” game, and hyper-extended legs from playtime gone wrong. From Giardia to Kennal Cough and everything in between, Trupanion has ALWAYS been there... helping and taking care of them...like a third parent!!!! Our dogs play hard, live hard, and love hard so they need an insurance company that is up to the task of caring for them. TP does this and makes it look easy! With everything that happens with our pups we have to ask our vets A LOT of questions when they end up there but there is ONE question that we NEVER, EVER have to ask and that is; “how much will this cost?” We don’t ever have to worry about that because we KNOW that Trupanion has our backs! I thank God for this company every time my babies are sick or hurt and if TP were a religion, I would seriously consider worshipping it!!! Keep it up y’all!!!
