I will never use any pet insurance provider other than ASPCA. Period.
Last year, we had a young GSD pup named Goose who came down with a bizarre virus that ended up taking his life. Long story short, what we initially thought was an obstruction in his stomach, turned out to be a virus that spread from his GI tract to his lungs and after more than a week of ER care, the vets believed there was nothing else they could do - we had to put him down. While the decision was incredibly hard, ASPCA made it possible for us to pursue a cure to the very end and have peace of mind, after his passing, that we did everything we possibly could have to save his life. ASPCA's staff stayed in constant contact with me, offered words of encouragement, and always made it clear what they would need to process the near $15,000 dollars worth of claims we ended up filing. Once the claim was processed, we received our reimbursement shortly thereafter. It was a very tough time for myself and my fiancee and we will forever be appreciative of the way ASPCA and the ER veterinarians treated us. P.S. That was about a year ago to to the date and, recently, we welcomed a new shepherd into our home. After our experience with Goose, we knew exactly who we would be calling to insure our new pup. Our experience with ASPCA has made us life-long customers and as our friends start to adopt dogs of their own, we only have one recommendation to give. Thank you all so much!

healthypaws brings me and my dogs a sense of peace and security
I did all the research to choose a Pet insurance for my 3 rescue's and after careful consideration, I chose healthypaws. It wasn't just about price, but also service, and their involvement as stewards to help other animals. I'm grateful for their phenomenal service with my Pug Gus, and also Frankie and Pablo who have also had visits that healthypaws reimbursed for. It's a great benefit to get pet insurance, but more importantly, it's something your pet deserves, and will give them a healthy and longer life. Without healthypaws, sometimes people have to make sad decisions they normally wouldn't have because of the financial consequences. healthypaws gets rid of that problem, and it's such a relief to have that sense of peace and security. Excellent customer service with a few small opportunities for improvement in the claims process
Every time I call my call is answered quickly by a live person who is always extremely helpful and upbeat. Nicely done! My only negative feedback comes from the fact that I've had claims rejected on two separate occasions and when I call to inquire why, the representative says the claim should have been approved to begin with, then approves the claim. Most recent example of this is claim #2020012603681. When I called the representative was very helpful and I want to stress I am very happy with the insurance overall... just a little frustrated to have to submit these claims "twice" to get them paid. Thanks for your help with my best (furry) buddy Magnus!

Nationwide takes care of my furbaby
I absolutely am a true advocate for Nationwide. I've had it for 10 years (since my dog was 8 weeks) and although it increases yearly in price, it helps to recoup vet bills. The phone agents are friendly/caring and the reimbursement for my vet bills are quick (they even do direct deposit)!
