I would not recommend to anyone!
The most frustrating pet insurance I've ever had! Their selling point is that claims are supposed to be easy to process and that could not be farther from the truth. My dog has 2 pre-existing medical conditions. He had them when I started my previous 2 pet insurance policies from other providers. Both previous providers gave me a written list of his pre-existing conditions so I was clear about what would and would not be covered when making claims. After my very first claim was denied based on a pre-existing condition I asked them for a list of all the pre-existing conditions they had for my dog based on the medical records I provided and they told me they cannot give me that. What?! They said each and every time I file a claim someone is manually reviewing his 11+ years of medical history (no wonder it takes them WEEKS to even look at a claim!). And now every review a claim is subjective as different reviewers may have different opinions about his medical history. Or worse, just have no idea how to read medical records and claim that my dog was diagnosed with a condition that the notes actually say the doctor was RULING OUT! So unbelievably frustrating! Additionally they are constantly requesting new medical records even through they have my dogs full history. With my last 2 pet insurance plans all I ever needed to provide was an itemized invoice from my visit. Spot will not process a single claim without the detailed medical notes from every single visit, which leads to even longer delays in processing. Switching to Spot was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I would not recommend them to anyone!

Quick turnaround for payment!
My sweet dachshund got IVDD and lost function in her back legs. Time is important when this happens. I took her to the emergency vet and she had back surgery an hour later. She is still recovering but has full functionality. Pets Best took care of my claim fully and quickly. Thank you so much! Took away so much of the financial stress!!!

10/10 would (and have!) recommend
We have had an amazing experience with MetLife Pet Insurance!! It brought us so much peace of mind to know that we had the coverage to get the care our puppy needed. I can't imagine if we had to make decisions about his care without the financial peace of mind that our pet insurance policy brought to us. Filling out the claim was easy and painless, and the decision and reimbursement was timely and efficient. We are truly so grateful and have recommended MetLife Pet Insurance to many people since our recent scare! Our puppy is thriving and we are so grateful.

This company would have gotten a 4-star…
This company would have gotten a 4-star rating from me. They have covered most items and are prompt at refunding covered costs. However, I have had to bend over backwards to get them to cover several claims for a condition my dog has had for a while (example: if the vet writes "arthritis" instead of "osteoarthritis", you have to fight tooth and nail). In any case, it is a reassurance to have insurance and they do end up paying. That being said, they are constantly raising rates!!! We will continue with our dogs now that they have been on it for years, but when they pass and we get other dogs, we will likely explore options.
