If you have the budget, go somewhere else
Getting claims accurately taken care of is as difficult as pulling teeth, if I didn't have so many animals I'd switch to another insurance provider. Only one customer service rep ever helped me, the rest just drug on my issues and did not follow up. I've been trying to get a surgery approved for my medically fragile cat for months, despite 3+ vet recommendations and countless visits they won't respond to me.

Co-pay tripled for long time customers
I spent over a decade with Healthy Paws. They asked me to post favorable reviews recently, during my pet’s ongoing health crisis. A few months later they forced a tripling of my co-pay (from them covering 90% to them covering 70%), while keeping my monthly premium at basically the same cost. They only agree to insure pets while they are young and more likely to be healthy, offering them an 80% reimbursement rate, meanwhile they slash the reimbursement rates on the more expensive older pets they insure. Since pre-existing conditions are not covered through any pet insurance, they have hostages in pet parents who trusted them, and now have no choice but to take the unfair treatment. Learn from my mistake. Find another pet insurance company. These people can no longer be trusted.

I have used Healthy Paws for my dog since he was a puppy 13 years ago. I was initially very impressed with the quality of service and customer service I received from the company, but Healthy Paws CS no longer exists. I have been trying to get a claim processed for 3 weeks, and the CS team keeps telling me someone will reach out and help, but it never happens. I have experienced this every time there has been an issue with my account. I always have the worst customer experience with this company - no one cares to help.

Thank you for covering my boy Joey's expenses. I try hard to keep him healthy and he is a tough boy, but like humans, animals get sick too, and I am happy that you cover him when he get sick or injured.

Excellent service with quick response. Claim was paid with no negative comments. I would strongly recommend using Trupanion for your insurance needs. Trupanion has supported all five of our dogs for many years.

I have had the ASPCA pet insurance for over 6 years now, all 3 of my pets are covered. My journey started when Sadie my dog fell ill with a rare autoimmune condition. After visiting my primary care vet, and then transferred to an emergency hospital for a blood transfusion, she began to get better. Needless to say, the bill was extremely high. I am happy to say that the ASPCA insurance covered 90% with no questions asked, and to date several years later my cat had to see a specialist for a cancer scare, again the bill was high and the ASPCA insurance covered it with no questions asked. All I had to do in both cases and submit all my paperwork and it was very smooth. I will continue to work with this insurance company.

Claims that are easy to process
I love that they connect directly with my Vet and when you have a claim it is so easy they submit bill to you guys you make your determination and pay vet directly and then I pay my deductible and my 10% of the bill. This makes it so much easier. I have all my dogs insured so when there is a claim it is so easy for the pet owner.

I received a month of insurance with the purchase of my cat. The site is easy to use however, after only submitting one claim, I received 5 emails reading "sorry for taking so long" and no other information for my reimbursement. After having no success with this carrier, I decided to switch to Embrace.
