Terrible
Terrible. They lie to you about what’s covered and pick and choose when they want to reimburse you for things. I have a plan that includes routine wellness but a routine teeth cleaning apparently isn’t covered even though I’ve gotten partially reimbursed for teeth cleanings in the past. I understand if an extraction isn’t covered but how is NOTHING from the whole teeth cleaning covered at all? Their answer for anything not covered is that it’s a preexisting condition. So my vet recommends a yearly teeth cleaning when my dog has mild tartar buildup, so I get his teeth cleaned but no it’s not covered because he has periodontal disease? Well why was I reimbursed for a dental in the past? Just not consistent and feels like a scam. The only reason I have this insurance is that I was led to believe it covers instances like this. Apparently it doesn’t. Honestly it’s cheaper to just pay out of pocket and not have insurance at all at this point.

We are so grateful we had purchased…
We are so grateful we had purchased this insurance. The ease of having it billed directly from the vet was so helpful during a critical surgery for our 6 month old puppy. The coverage put our minds at ease so we could concentrate on him.

Will NEVER Recommend Healthy Paws Again
I am absolutely disgusted by Healthy Paws’ recent policy changes for pets over 7 years old. After being a loyal customer for more than 10 years, I never expected the company to effectively reduce coverage just when senior pets are most likely to need it. Healthy Paws has downgraded reimbursement rates and more than doubled deductibles for older pets, leaving long-time customers with significantly worse coverage despite years of faithfully paying premiums. Many of us purchased pet insurance specifically to protect our pets as they age, yet Healthy Paws appears to be changing the rules once pets reach the stage of life where coverage matters most. What makes this especially frustrating is that existing customers are essentially trapped. After years with the company, switching insurers often isn’t a realistic option because of pre-existing condition exclusions. Healthy Paws knows this and still chose to reduce the value of coverage for senior pets. Numerous pet owners have reported similar changes affecting pets aged 7 and older at renewal. This is a terrible way to treat customers who have supported your company for a decade or more. Loyalty clearly means nothing when corporate profits are put ahead of the people and pets who trusted you. I can no longer recommend Healthy Paws to anyone considering pet insurance. If you’re shopping for coverage, pay close attention to what can happen when your pet gets older—because that’s when you find out what kind of company you’re really dealing with.

Great pet insurance company.
Great pet insurance company. My dog was just diagnosed with lymphoma and has started his first week of chemotherapy. The first claim filed was expediently processed.

Mrs.
Pets best is great. Easy to file a claim and fast to reimburse you.
Fast and easy claims process
Filing the claim was easy. The overall process was quick. The payment was clearly explained. The check arrived within a few days.
The claim process was a little…
The claim process was a little confusing at first but when I spoke to an agent, who was incredibly helpful and polite, there was clarity. I resubmitted my claims and they were promptly approved. Thank you Trupanion for helping me save my amazing doxie, who is a true warrior.

Would Never Recommend
Pets Best is anything but. They have no customer service department and if someone does get back to you it takes a week, every, single, time. Then they deny your claims for no reason just so they can take your money.

Thanks for a GREAT job!!!!
Taking Morgan to the vets is not an easy thing to do. Filing a claim was like taking a walk in the park. Pets Best is so great. Morgan and I are so happy. She's wagging her tail, and I would too if I had one. Keep up the good work!
