Be very careful with this company
Be very careful and understand how they define a pre-existing condition. From my experience, they can deny claims based on a pre-existing condition for a condition that never existed - a condition was investigated, but when the test came back negative and no diagnosis or treatment was ever provided, they still claimed that the investigation was covered by their definition of pre-existing.

Denied for a new issue
My dog was seen for an issue with his larynx. Met life decided that he has tracheal collapse and that is the issue of course they say it's pre-exisiting (IT'S NOT). I appealed they denied it then tell that I can submit a second appeal for $85 an hour out of my pocket. When I ask for a full refund because they aren't holding up their end of the deal they refuse because I had the "option" of using the insurance for other things during that time which I did NOT use and suggested I take my animal to the vet for something else that they will cover (and most likely deny).

HORRIBLE nightmare
they refuse to reimburse us a single dollar, even with my VET WRITING THEM A DETAILED LETTER. i filled out all the forms, appeals, emails, phone calls - metlife pet insurance has easily been the worst insurance experience of my entire life.

No one will call you back.
I've had this insurance for a few months. My dog came down with a cough which warranted a vet visit. I was asked to upload medical records on here, which I did. Than I was asked again, and I did it again. Than I was asked again, and I did it again. Finally the claim was denied and I can't get ahold of anyone and no one calls me back in order to sort it out. There are 3 copies of the medical records attached to the denied claim. I've written emails, made phone calls, left messages, no one will help. They did cover the dental cleaning though at least.

I've had insurance for my dog since I…
I've had insurance for my dog since I got her 5 years ago. Thankfully, last week was the first time I needed to use it for her hospital visit. The process was simple as the office was able to submit the invoice directly. I was pleasantly surprised how much was covered.
