Increases price as the number of claims increases. Check your monthly price. It changes without notification. Very disappointed. They hold you because it is hard to get a new insurance company because of existing conditions and they know it.

I insured my cat with Nationwide from…
Do not consider Nationwide if you want to have your pet covered. The insurance is supposed to protect you when your pet gets sick. In my experience, Nationwide was there when I had my monthly payments, but not when my cat actually needed care. After years of loyalty, I felt abandoned and misled. I would not recommend Nationwide to anyone looking for reliable coverage for a pet with any illness. They will simply say it is breed related and take it as uncovered even if this is not stated in any policy documents. I insured my cat with Nationwide from the day I brought him home. When he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition at age two, Nationwide immediately began reducing coverage and looking for reasons to deny claims. First, they cut my coverage options by about 50%. Then they claimed his condition was hereditary and breed-related, despite my veterinarian providing written confirmation that it was not. Nationwide ignored the medical opinion and maintained its denial.

Scam Company – Takes Your Money, Avoids Paying Claims
Nationwide Pet Insurance is by far the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I pay nearly $200 every month to insure my dogs, but when it comes time for them to pay a claim, they do everything possible to avoid it. Based on my experience, this feels like a scam. They are quick to take customers’ money but make the claims process extremely difficult when it is time to pay. I submitted my claim on May 11, and more than a month later I still have not received any reimbursement. Instead of processing my claim, they continue to delay, create excuses, and provide conflicting information. One of the most frustrating parts is that Nationwide keeps falsely claiming that I have another active pet insurance policy. This is completely untrue. My previous insurance was canceled a long time ago, and I have explained this to them multiple times. Despite that, they continue using this false information to delay my claim and avoid paying what they owe. Customer service has been terrible. Every time I contact them, I get a different answer. Nobody takes responsibility, nobody follows up, and nobody seems interested in actually helping customers. I have wasted countless hours trying to correct their mistakes and get a simple claim processed. I have paid my premiums on time every month and provided every document they requested. Nationwide has failed to do its part. It feels like they are happy to collect customers’ money but unwilling to honor the coverage they promise when a pet actually needs care. After months of delays, excuses, and false statements, this experience honestly feels like a scam. I paid for coverage, submitted my claim on May 11, and still have not received reimbursement. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing insurance experiences I have ever had. I would never recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to anyone. Save your money and stay away from this company.

Pet’s Best is the WORST
We’ve had Pet’s Best for our dog and have only used it 1x. Premiums started at $69 and have now ballooned to $249! Friends have use a different company (same area/aged dog) but have used many times yet their premium is below $20. When we called Pet’s Best to ask why ours was so high we were hung up on! While waiting on hold again to cancel I insured our dog with Nationwide for $23/month. Customer service was rude and didn’t care. Still don't know why our premiums skyrocketed for no reason.
