Pets Best Insurance So Helpful

Pets Best has helped me with medical issues when my dog has been in need of both ER visits and regular non emergency visits many times. The claim process has been smooth on most submissions with reimbursements done within 30 days or less. If I have questions and call customer service they are always helpful and understanding. On occasions I have reached out to their vet staff for medical advice and the generous care they give to me is outstanding. The premium costs might seem to pricey but the financial help that comes with those are so well worth it. I can honestly say- without having Pets Best insurance I would have had to refinance my mortgage to pay for my best friend companions medical needs. Thank you Pets Best- you and my dogs veterinarians help me to make her life healthy and safe.

scam

Took my dog for his yearly visit because his vaccines weren’t up-to-date and I couldn’t get him in to doggy daycare. I was about 10 days early without realizing it and I called the insurance company to see if they could cover anything at all since he’s not due for his yearly check up anymore. I have paid over $700 in premiums since his last vet visit in March till this month and they can’t cover a $240 yearly check up. what a scam.

Pet Insurance is a must for Shar Pei's!

We have 3 dogs insured with Pets Best and we truly couldn't do it without them! Having 3 dogs means anything can happen at anytime and knowing that we have Pets Best behind us, brings us so much peace of mind! We have a 4.5 year old Shar Pei who has struggled with ear infections since he was young, but overall hasn't (thankfully) had many other health problems. While we have always been on the watch for what we thought was the most common Shar Pei Fever symptoms, we thought by 4.5 years old, we may have gotten extra lucky to never experience a fever with him. Unfortunately, out of nowhere, we were proved wrong. After an overnight stay in the vet emergency ICU, a very large bill was waiting for us. Pets Best makes submitting claims SO easy. I simply took screenshots of the bill in my email and prescription information from the pharmacy, and filled out the few questions they ask. Within a few days, I had follow up notifications asking for a bit more information and I was able to easily upload the proper documentation, as well as our follow up vet visit bill. In less than 2 weeks, our claim was filed, updated, reviewed, and closed and we had the money back in our bank account. I received email alerts, as well as notifications from the app on my phone, which made the turnaround time even faster. We are forever grateful to have pet insurance, but also for Pets Best specifically because they make the process so quick and easy! I recommend Pets Best insurance to every single person I possibly can!

Our sweet girl….

Healthy Paws has been awesome. Having an active border collie we got pet insurance when she was 6 months old. It has helped us so much when she developed a rare AC Fistula in her front leg. X-rays, a biopsy, then two years later we had to amputate her front leg. Healthy paws paid the 90% we signed up for within two weeks of the surgery. Never thought having a tripod dog would have gone so smooth. She is now out of pain, happy and hopping around and active again! Thank you healthy paws for NOT making a hard situation even harder.

Great pet insurance

Thankfully, I've never had to use the insurance but the piece of mind that it's there is worth everything. My pup is still a young adult but, as he ages, I'm sure we'll need to rely on MetLife.

Premium increases are insane

I've had my cat covered for 11 years and in that time my premiums have tripled without a single claim. She's been healthy the whole time and yet it went from $50 to $150 per month. Save your money and put your premiums in a savings account, at least then you'll have the money for your pet when needed and the savings account won't deny your claim based on some bs loophole they use to deny claims.

Painfull Experience but Recovering and Free of It

Our 8 year old female Schnauzer was experiencing abdominal pain two weeks ago. She was initially diagnosed as having a Pancreatitis flair up but after further testing it was determined that it was Hyperlipidemia. Our insurance coverage made the situation more manageable financially. With the medicine prescribed to support her liver and gallbladder as well as her prescribed low fat food, she is hopefully well on her way to a full recovery.

Worst investment!

This company basically just steals your money every month for the premium and denies any claims you make, regardless of what they are. My dog had an ear infection, a fluke accident, and they denied the claim because they said it was a pre-existing condition. I don't understand how an ear infection is a pre-existing condition and even had my vet write a letter stating the exact cause of the ear infection and how it just happens in dogs from time to time, it wasn't caused by anything he's ever had previously and they denied both my appeal forms. They are greedy, won't pay for anything, and make the entire process horrible. There is no one to even call about discussing a denied claim, their call center doesn't know anything and can't give you any information as to the reasoning for the denial. They said there is no way to contact the appeals team directly which is just ridiculous. Do not get insurance with them, they deny everything and do not care about your pets, just making money off of you.

Scammy behavior when you need help

I’ve been with pets best for years without filing claims. 2 years ago I filed a claim when my dog got an auto immune disease. Not only did they fight me every step of the way to get reimbursed but now they double the monthly cost every year. It takes months to get reimbursement and now I’m stuck paying either $300/month for one dog who is generally healthy or cancelling altogether. They seem great at first but like all insurance companies, in the end all they want is a profit without having to pay out.

How is this legal?

After eight years as a Pets Plus Us customer, I'm incredibly disappointed with the recent changes and lack of communication I've experienced. What started as a reliable insurance provider for my furry friend has transformed into a frustrating and potentially predatory service. The initial shock came when I noticed a premium didn't come out of my bank account. Upon calling Pets Plus Us, I was informed that my policy was discontinued and I hadn't opted into their new coverage. The problem? I never received any notification of this significant change. This lack of communication alone is unacceptable for a long-standing customer. However, the real issue lies in the details of the new plan. I was offered a policy with drastically reduced coverage – a drop from $5000 per incident to a mere $3000 annually total. This represents a massive decrease in protection for my pet. To add insult to injury, this downgraded coverage comes at a higher price, nearly $30 more per month than my previous policy. When I raised my concerns with Pets Plus Us, I was essentially told that this severely limited plan was my only option. Furthermore, they informed me that if I chose to explore other plans or insurance providers with better coverage, any prior vet visits – even for common issues like vomiting or accidental ingestion – would be considered pre-existing conditions. This is a blatant attempt to strong-arm loyal customers into accepting a subpar product with significantly reduced benefits. This tactic feels incredibly disingenuous and borderline unethical. To penalize customers for exploring better options after unilaterally changing their policy is a terrible practice. It leaves me questioning the integrity of the company and its commitment to its customers. My loyalty of eight years has been met with a complete lack of transparency, a significant reduction in coverage, and thinly veiled threats. While I understand that companies can change their policies, the way Pets Plus Us has handled this transition is deeply concerning. I'm left wondering how this is even legal, and more importantly, I'm incredibly disappointed that this is how Pets Plus Us treats its long-standing customers. Be warned: what appears to be a reliable and trustworthy insurance provider can quickly become a source of frustration and financial burden. I highly recommend carefully reviewing your policy and exploring all available options before committing to Pets Plus Us.
