Better to not have insurance

They hide everything in the fine print. Their accident and illness plan doesn’t cover the emergency exam portion of your emergency visit which is often half of the price of taking your pet to an emergency vet. They also only pay $150 towards spay/neuter and won’t cover anything that is labeled as pre-op such as medications or the pre-op visit, even though they advertise covering spay/neuter. We paid $71/month for 9 months with a new puppy (lots of exams, vaccines, office visits, neuter, and emergency visits) and got reimbursed a whopping $200 total in that time because nothing is covered or even counts toward your deductible. It makes more sense to not have this insurance.

Healthy Paws is absolutely a must-have.

Healthy Paws is absolutely a must-have. We have 3 pets on our policy, two big dogs who recently passed around pneumonia for over 2 months, one required hospitalization. Healthy Paws had our back the whole way. Instant claims processing, direct deposit of reimbursements within days (not weeks). Healthy Paws + 0% APR Care Credit is the way to go to ensure your pets get the treatments they need, right away. Right after our pneumonia scares, one of our dogs tore his ACL!! Over $8,000 in treatments and counting, and Healthy Paws once again had our backs. We feel so safe knowing we have a Healthy Paws policy, that our pets are protected no matter what. We are 100% Healthy Paws for lifers and recommend them to anyone that doesn't have pet insurance yet or doesn't like their provider.

Peace of mind

The online claims process is easy to navigate, and reimbursement is sent quickly. I feel that the premiums charged are reasonable for the peace of mind that knowing my dog's medical needs will be covered, and I can afford to give her the best care possible. They even reached out to check on my dog after she experienced a medical emergency to see how she was doing.

Petsbest for our Airedale Terrier!

Our Airedale Terrier is now 5 years old and we've had her covered by PetsBest since she was 2 or 3 months old. Even though the premiums are increasing as her age increases, we are still far ahead in reimbursements than premiums. Petsbest covers what they say they cover and processes claims within a reasonable amount of time. Most claims are process within 1 or 2 weeks, occasionally we've had it take 3 or 4 weeks to process, usually larger ones. Our first claim was at around 18 months old when we thought she might have hip dysplasia, and it took quite a bit of radiology and a few different doctors to figure it out. Thankfully she was found to be clear of hip issues, but we didn't hesitate to "pull out all the stops" to get her checked out. A couple of years ago we were chasing some digestive issues, and again, we didn't hesitate to agree to do a stomach scope plus some extra blood work because we knew our out of pocket costs would be limited. She recently has developed environmental allergies that require allergy shots every 6-8 weeks or so, and these shots are covered (after deductible). Also, occasional medications, diagnostic labs, etc. Even with my $1,000 annual deductible, I know my out of pocket illness/accident costs won't exceed that amount. Petsbest has been great so far!"

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance review We chose Healthy Paws pet insurance on the recommendation of a friend and we're so glad we did! We did our due diligence and compared several pet insurance plans before choosing Healthy Paws for their illness/accident plan. It's an affordable plan that offers enough coverage to really make a difference when unexpected emergencies arise. We can cover routine yearly exams and medications, but this plan gives us an extra level of comfort if our pup should become ill or is injured in an accident. As luck would have it our 6 month old puppy became ill with a stomach issue that required an ultrasound and overnight stay in the hospital. It was crazy expensive but Healthy Paws came through with flying colors. The plan covered 80% of the total cost (minus the deductible) and the money went into our checking account within 3 business days of submitting our first claim. We are very pleased with how smoothly the claim and reimbursement process went. I should add that we chose this particular plan because it fits our retiree budget, but they offer several plans to suit all needs. We highly recommend Healthy Paws. P.S. Our pup recovered quickly from his illness and is back to his same old puppy shenanigans. 🐾

Pets Best Happy Customer

"I've been very pleased with my decision to go with Pets Best for my pet insurance so far. I did extensive research (reading all articles, top 10 ratings, calling the customer service lines) for many companies and Pets Best was among the top 5, if not #1, in everything I looked into. The only complaint I saw was that the time between submitting the claim and receiving the reimbursement was between 15-42 days. I was hesitant at first but I'm here to say that I submitted my claim on a Monday (Wellness/Annual Visit), I was notified on Wednesday about receiving my reimbursement, and I received the reimbursement in my account on the following Wednesday - Less than 2 weeks! I feel like I made the right decision with Pets Best. "
