I just got hit with a 264% increase from Embrace

I just got hit with a 264% increase from Embrace!!! I have had Embrace for my Bolognese since he was a puppy, since 2011. He is now over 15 and is still pretty healthy. The premium had been increasing as he got older, last year it was $2,260. They just sent me a renewal invoice for $8,230!!! I submitted a single claim in 2015, and was reimbursed $223. At the same time, they have not raised the maximum annual reimbursement from $10,000. Why on earth would I pay over $8,000 to be reimbursed up to $10,000, when I may not even spend $8,000 in a year?!?! This is criminal. They should have just said they aren't renewing. Waste of time. We are CA residents. I would be happy to join a lawsuit. Response to Embrace's response - why bother to write this. Increases in vet bills do not justify a three-fold increase in premiums, especially when there have been no claims in over a decade.

It was a pretty easy decision

It was a pretty easy decision. Although I have not used their services yet, the application and the pricing seem to be good. Hopefully I do not have to use the insurance, but always good to have it.

I always hope that I never have to use…

I always hope that I never have to use it but I'm absolutely elated that I have this coverage for my dog Ruby Rhod. My dobermans have always been a large part of my life as I am every part of theirs. Over the years my dobermans have delt with cancer, cardiomyopathy, diabetes basically every thing that can happen to dogs when they reach their elderly ages and we have always made it a point to make sure that they have the coverage that they needed so we are able to give them the care they deserve. I have had other coverages and Pets Best is by far the best one out here. Thanks for helping keep my furry family together.

Wasted time and money with this pet insurance.

Do not get your policy through Prudent Pet, literal scam for your money. They find any loophole to not approve any treatment that was required due to new conditions, as well as charging so much to find out simple preventive treatments or annual exams are not included and would cost more to add on.

Extremely Disappointed and Misled

I am extremely disappointed with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. They increased my pet’s age by two years in their system and began charging me nearly four times more than what I originally signed up for — without properly notifying me. When I contacted them to ask why I was never informed about this drastic increase, I was told that “mail gets lost” and that I should have checked their website for notifications. That is not an acceptable way to communicate major billing changes, especially when premiums increase so significantly. On top of that, despite paying extremely high monthly premiums — almost comparable to what I pay for my own health insurance — they have not covered or reimbursed my claims as expected. The coverage feels extremely limited, and the value simply does not justify the cost. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and unexpected premium hikes feel deceptive. I would strongly advise pet owners to carefully review all terms and monitor their billing closely before trusting this company.
