Just a ripoff!!!
After eight years of paying Healthy Paws insurance and finally getting back the amount close to the amount of the monthly payment. They changed my deductible from $250 to $500 and my reimbursement percentage from 80% to 70%. I dealt with the price increases from 50.07 in 2018, 112.72 in 2024, 152.44 in 2025. This year it was 142.95 down approx 10.00 but reduced policy as stated above.

My dog is the poster child of pet insurance
Since I adopted Mowgli 5 years ago, he's had 3 instances of serious medical attention: splenectomy, leg amputation, and left over splenetic tissue acting out (years after the splenectomy!!). Each instance was over $5000 and Pets Best is the only reason I was able to afford his care. I can't tell you how relieving it is to not have to consider the cost of life saving treatments when I know I'm getting 90% of it back with his plan- and he definitely does need the premium plan, if you can't tell!! I tell everyone who comments on his maladies that pet insurance is the reason why I'm not destitute and he's still alive.

Application is user friendly and very simple, not to mention quick. Pricing seems to be a little cheaper than my old plan so….saving a little and less deductible was nice.

Fast Reimbursement, No Hassle
Our dog recently had an accident requiring an emergency procedure — the vet bill came to about $5,000. We had Pumpkin Pet Insurance and filed a claim the following day. I expected weeks of back-and-forth, but the reimbursement hit my account the very next day. With a 90% reimbursement rate and $500 deductible, we got back $4,000 on a $5,000 bill. Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend.

Response time is great, HOWEVER....
Response time is great. Payment is very fair, definitely according to the policy I signed up for. However, and this is a BIG however, the website is often very difficult to sign in to. I often get an error message, and it is sometimes days - not hours - later when I can finally get onto the website. This is a big red flag to me.

I just cancelled
I just cancelled my MetLife Pet Insurance. My cat vomited once during the two-week waiting period in October 2025. Now every claim that has anything to do with vomiting is being denied on the basis of a pre-existing condition, even a trip to the ER with entirely different vomiting symptoms (appeal denied). My understanding is that vomiting in a cat is a symptom and not a condition. For example, cats can vomit due to eating too much too fast or medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism or lymphoma. Hyperthyroidism or lymphoma should be categorized as a pre-existing condition if this was the case, not the symptom of vomiting. I consider this policy to be worthless for my purposes of giving my cat the best care regardless of the price.
