Stay away from this company and their insurance. They claim to cover a lot of things but when it comes down to needing to use the coverage they will do everything in their power to say the condition was pre existing. Premiums continually raise and the amount they will pay out lowers. Do not use!

Excellent Pet Insurance

We have been very satisfied with Pets Best. This is our 2nd dog we've had on your coverage and we can't say enough good things about them. Our 1st dog was diagnosed with cancer and so we were getting him set up with treatments. But unfortunately he took a turn for the worse & we lost him. So thankful for Pets Best through this process because it was a huge financial Stretch for us. Thank you!"

Pets best is the best!

Over the past year, my experience with Pets Best has been truly outstanding. What really stands out to me is not just how professional and efficient they are, but how much easier they made things during a very stressful time. When I found out my dog had breast cancer, everything felt overwhelming. Submitting claims and understanding coverage could have added to that stress, but it didn’t. They processed my claims quickly, and I was reimbursed promptly, even directly to my CareCredit account, which made a huge difference when I needed it most. Their customer service team has been consistently kind, patient, and easy to talk to. Anytime I had questions about my coverage, what I was responsible for, or even adjustments to my plan like changing a deductible, they took the time to explain everything clearly. I never felt lost in the process. I did a lot of research before choosing pet insurance, and Pets Best truly stands out. They offer strong coverage, but more importantly, they show up for you when it matters. I’m incredibly grateful for how smooth and supportive they made this experience during such a difficult time. Thank you, Pets Best.

Amazing experience

I’ve had to file multiple claims with Pets Best because one of my cats is addicted to eating hair ties and rubber bands, even after we hide them from her. She opened drawers to get them. I’ve always gotten reimbursed in a timely manner. I’ve always had the best experience with Pets Best!

Puccini is doing great

Puccini is doing great! We were able to have his cracked, painful teeth removed thanks to his Healthy Paw Insurance. I especially appreciate their new direct payment system.

Good experience with 3 major caveats

I've generally had a good experience with Healthy Paws over the years. They are prompt in processing most claims, and if they don't have enough information, they will immediately reach out. They'll cover most things that are not related to wellness, and are upfront about that. I've personally had everything covered under their policy reimbursed without any major issues. The minus one star is for the following reasons 1. When you sign up for a coverage level, you expect to maintain that level of coverage for the duration of the policy. Within the past year, Healthy Paws has down graded policies from the original coverage level. Ie I was covered under 80% reimbursement with a $250 deductible, but they've downgraded my coverage to 70% with a $500 deductible. There is no option to be grandfathered in with your original plan, while new accounts are stuck with the reduced coverage. This further sucks because if your pet has any pre-existing issues, it limits your ability to shop around as a result of this reduced coverage, which the pet insurance companies are aware of. Due to the reimbursement calculation issue mentioned in my next point, this downgrade means significantly lower reimbursement, while still paying more in monthly fees to keep the policy with forcibly reduced coverage. Overall, beware if you sign up, because they may very well do this again in the future. 2. The reimbursement calculations are not intuitive. Ie if you have a $1000 vet bill, with all eligible items, the reimbursement calculation is (1000*0.8)-250=550. As opposed to the expected (1000-250)*0.8 =600. 3. If they send you an email requesting more information, and you promptly submit it, they don't usually tie it to your active claim and put it back into the claim assesor's queue, even if you got an initial confirmation email that they received it. A quick phone call is usually all it takes to remedy this and make sure they have what they need, but you shouldn't have to call to have them link requested information with active claims and to then put it back into the claim assesors queue.
