The claim forms are very easy to use.
This is our first insurance policy we have taken out on any of our dogs. We have been very pleased with the process of sending and the amount that has been received by us from Nationwide.

Retroactive deductible changes and
I enrolled my dog at my vet on a free 30 day trial. It had a $250 deductible. My dog had an injury and I had to use the insurance during the trial period when the deductible was the default $250. After I signed up at the end of the period, i increased the deductible. Trupanion applied the new amount to the injury sustained during the trial period and made me pay more deductible. They also refused to combine claims when we went through the diagnostic period for the SAME injury as the incorrectly diagnosed and was called 3 different things by 3 vets. It was the same injury sustained during the trial period that turned out to be a muscle tear. I have had the vets involved and trupanion will not believe them that it is the same condition! Now I have a specific condition that I have already paid deductible on and they already started paying out on. But they are holding the claim and refusing to pay out as they MIGHT call it something different now.... and thereby causing me to pay the deductible a 2nd time. The condition is classified and was submitted the same by my vet's office.

110% Recommend Healthy Paws!
I first got Pet insurance back in 2007 with my first dog, Kacey. Back then it wasn't as good as it is now. Kacey past away in 2016 due to Leukemia, and I adopted Marvin shortly after. He was about 5 or 6, a rescue dog. I researched all the new & different pet insurance companies for days, I finally went with Healthy Paws, they had the best coverage for my needs. And boy has it paid off! Marvin recently spent a few hours at the emergency vet, and subsequently a trip to a neurologist for an MRI. Healthy Paws made the claim process so easy & they covered everything 90% (due to the policy I have, less the office visit charge) & in a very timely manner. They even continue to cover his paid meds related to his injury. You hope that you will never need it, but you don't know what will happen, for a small monthly payment you get peace of mind with Healthy Paws! And you know that you can give your beloved pet the best medical care, if ever needed. I, 110% recommend Healthy Paws! Your beloved companion is totally worth it! Thanks Health Paws!!

DO NOT GET INSURANCE FROM THEM
Worst company to deal with. I got my insurance paid the deposit and two monthly payments. Your enrollment date, doesn't count towards your 30 day wait period. I filed a claim over 30 days after my enrollment. They said his knee was preexisting. They are worst than insurance companies. They act very nice and state how they are different. They are not. If your dog needs help or surgery they won't be there.

Hesitant to get pet insurance, but so glad we did
We were hesitant to get pet insurance, but getting our labradoodle, Enzo, insured by Nationwide was the very best thing for us. Great company. We do all our claims on-line and payment is very timely. We would recommend Nationwide to all pet owners.
