Embrace is a total rip off and calls things pre existing conditions that are completely separate issues!

I can’t tell you how horribly disappointed I am in your insurance. My dog had a growth on his head that was completely independent of any other lipomas on his body and they wanted me to do a biopsy of the lipoma to Make sure it wasn’t related to the head growth. Who would do that to a 14.5 year old dog. They just don’t want to cover his medical expenses. Furthermore even though my dog has never had cancer , he has benign lipomas and if he did get a cancerous growth they would call it a pre existing condition related to the benign lipomas which of course it is not. I would tell everyone to not use this pet insurance!! They are in the business of collecting premiums and not covering pet care.

Convenient. Unless they decide not to cover your procedure

Appreciated the ease of direct to vet pay during my cat's emergency. However, I was very dissatisfied with the refusal to cover a (expensive) sedated diagnostic procedure because Trupanion unilaterally decided to categorize it as a non-covered visit/exam fee, despite multiple calls from the vet's office trying to explain to them that it was a PROCEDURE not an exam. Disappointing.

I would say it's worth it

I would say it's worth it. I pay about $20 a month for 2 cats. My cats can randomly have health problems. Before I really wouldn't want to bring them to the vet because it's so expensive, but of course I would for my pet. I recently had to bring one of them to be seen. The bill was high, but since now I met my deductible, the remaining bill will be refunded by 80%. I submitted the claim Monday morning, and it was approved Thursday, and I got my refund Friday morning. Super easy to submit the claim too.

*DO NOT RECOMMEND-BEWARE OF SIX MONTH…

*DO NOT RECOMMEND-BEWARE OF SIX MONTH WAITING PERIOD* I recently added both my dogs to this pet insurance back in December. One of them recently had a ligament strain in March, and so I submitted a claim. I had already uploaded all medical history, and they reached out saying they needed her records. So I had to resend it manually to them-they then came back saying there was a gap in care even though I had sent all records. So even more back and forth via email. Shortly after, they denied the claim saying this specific claim fell within the waiting period, which I didn't realize was 6 months for ligament/orthopedic injuries (my mistake, but important to note for future clients). I would HIGHLY recommend Lemonade or a similar company-even though more expensive, their max waiting period is 30 days...which is way more reasonable, especially given it is for pet insurance. Now this injury is considered a pre-existing condition and won't ever be covered in the future for my dog. Very frustrating.
