Worth It
Overall: My experience with Pet’s Best has been great in terms of claims. Initially, their processing times were taking 3-4 weeks but recently they have been processing insanely quick which helps with the costs of vet care. My dog has been hospitalized four times over the last few months and we have been a wreck. Without the insurance, I’m not sure what we would do. The only complaint I do have is the policy increases are very high. I’ve been with PB for nearly four years and I’m paying close to $315 monthly for two dogs to be insured. It’s unfortunate that downgrades cannot be made with our risking coverage/writing a new policy.

Don't go there!
Whatever you do, do not pick MetLife! They are a total scam. They will find ANY reason, no matter how absurd to call EVERYTHING a "pre-existing condition". The latest, and amongst the worst is that MetLife claims to cover tooth cleanings. We just had our dogs teeth cleaned, and the only thing the MetLife covered was the antibiotic she was sent home with! Apparently her having teeth is a "pre-existing condition", despite MetLife claiming to cover tooth cleanings! EVERYTHING with these scamsters is a battle! Do yourself a favor and try to find an honest insurance company like I'm going to have to!

HP was very patient about securing…
HP was very patient about securing medical records after our dogs surgery. We were naturally most concerned about her recovery, as was HP, and they gave us all the guidance, time and direction needed to complete our claim. Once received, they processed the claim quickly and have followed up with us.

Quick and Easy
Submitting a claim is very easy so long as you have the needed paperwork. Payment is also very quick and easy once the claim is verified. Pumpkin has come through for my dog twice over the past three years.

SCAM
I took my one and a 1 1/2 year old English mastiff to the vet Because his scrotum area was red and enlarged.. I don't remember what they said the problem was, but they said they would have to do an emergency neutering for him which was fine Because I was going to get that done anyway at some point.. This was to be done the next day.The next morning, when I woke up to take him for the surgery, I noticed that that area was bleeding.. They did the procedure, they also had to remove the scrotum, and he is recovering nicely. I sent all of this information to Embrace and they refuse to cover it. They are nothing but a scam...

Disappointed in Trupanion
I submitted receipts for surgery. The total amounted to a little over $1,000. Trupanion whittled every detail down to under $200 - which meant I met my deductible for the year. And I pay $231 a month? I have not filed a claim since 2024, which was the first one in the seven years of having insurance with Trupanion. How disappointing.

Great pet insurance company! Nothing but positive interaction
I have had dogs for the last 60 years and I have never had pet insurance. I have no.idea why I signed up my current pup for pet insurance. I guess it was a God thing. My dog has been very sick with some very big diseases, including positive heartworm, which required treatment. She has Cushing’s disease in hypothyroid and damage from the heartworm, which is a lot. I feel guilty for turning so many receipts for reimbursement into the insurance company, but they have never even hinted at the fact that my bills were so high. I’ve talked to the Customer Service agent a couple times, in tears, and they assured me that they were sad for my puppy, but they would keep paying for my bills. I have a guilt complex lol and didn’t like that I had turned in so many receipts for reimbursement. They are prompt and efficient. They do not give one iota of a bit of grief. They are one of the best customer service companies that I have worked with in my lifetime. I would not ever hesitate to go ahead and get insurance through Best Petsand if my pup doesn’t make it, then if I get another dog, I will certainly get this insurance again.

Don’t get a vet clearance before you purchase insurance
I had some concerns with my puppy when we first adopted him, so I took him to the vet. They gave him the all clear, said none of my concerns looked like they would continue on. A month later I purchase the insurance thinking I was in the clear because my dog was cleared by the vet. Fast forward 8 months and my dog has similar on going issues, different diagnosis from what we thought. But because I brought up concerns with the vet and they cleared him, Fetch says it’s a pre-existing condition that is not covered as well as anything that comes from it. What a scam. Don’t get an all clear from the vet before purchasing pet insurance.
