My dog was insured for 9 years
My dog was insured for 9 years. We never filed a claim. The past two years the policy doubled. $45 to $90 causing me to changed the deductible to get it to $70. This year it doubled again to $158. I cancelled it. Crazy. Worse than BlueCross for humans

10+ year customer, will always have them
i've had healthy paws pet insurance..... for the last 10+ years. they are definitely a premium insurer - but you get what you pay for. physical therapy. cancer treatments. $20,000 surgeries. i send them the invoice, they deposit my reimbursement a couple days later. not even batting an eye. i always recommend them.

Unrealistic Annual Renewal Rates
The customer service is fine, I'm giving this low rating due to the ridiculousness of their pricing algorithms. My pet's policy is set to renew in October and the monthly premium increased 68%! Yes, you read that right, 68%! I don't even know how that's legal? But I'm stuck with the policy since my dog has allergies (a pre-existing condition), otherwise Id go elsewhere. Shame on you, Embrace.

Rising rates , slowing response time
Have 2 dogs insured. Both take monthly meds. One claim gets paid almost immediately while the other consistently takes up to a month. She’s been on the same med since before she turned 1. She is now 4. Nothing new. At the point the yearly rates are increasing, by next year it will probably be too costly to keep insurance. Will have to weigh it out.

You don’t think you’ll need it, until you do.
Like anyone, I hated paying insurance premiums every month. But, something told me not to cancel my SPOT insurance. Let me tell you, I am SO glad I didn’t. One day my dog decided to eat a cardboard box while we were in the middle of a move. He has never done anything like this. Well, cardboard does not digest. He ended up with a wad of congealed cardboard that wouldn’t come up and wouldn’t pass through. Nearly $5000 for surgery and treatment and he is just fine. What a huge stressor this would have been without SPOT insurance. This incident was the first time I actually had to file a claim and I was honestly nervous about how it would go. But it was so smooth. I filed the claim through the app, attached the required receipts and proof of treatment, and within about a week the reimbursement hit my bank account. It was so easy. I will forever recommend pet insurance. Hopefully you never need them but the peace of mind knowing SPOT has your back if the time comes is 100% worth the monthly premiums.

My policy has gone in ten years from…
My policy has gone in ten years from $360.00 per year to $3600.00 per year for the same amount of coverage. I realize that there is inflation and the cost of veterinary care has escalated as well. This seems excessive. Despite the good customer care and reasonably prompt repayment, I would choose a different company to insure my dog. Pet insurance has many additional companies who can provide service at a more competitive price. In the past I have recommended this company to all my friends and in online dog forums. I can no longer do that.
