Best Pet Insurance!

I've had MetLife Pet Insurance for almost six years and I love how simple the process is to get my dog's care covered.

RUN! DO NOT BUY this pet insurance

I’ve had a profoundly disappointing experience with MetLife Pet Insurance and I want to save others from the same frustration. On paper, the coverage looks great, and the marketing hype is strong—but the reality of actually using the insurance is completely different. Whenever I have submitted a claim, MetLife seems to default to denying it, frequently citing "pre-existing conditions" for issues that are clearly not pre-existing. It feels like they are looking for any excuse to avoid payment rather than supporting the health of my pet. The claims and appeals process is an absolute disaster. When you do have to file an appeal, you are entering a black hole. They don’t provide confirmation when they receive your documents, so you’re left wondering if your appeal was lost or simply being ignored. The process is incredibly long and arduous, forcing you to do all the heavy lifting to prove their own mistakes wrong. I am essentially paying for a service that refuses to fulfill its end of the bargain when I actually need it. If you’re looking for peace of mind, look elsewhere. This has been nothing but a headache and a waste of money. Do yourself and your pet a favor and find a more transparent and reliable provider.

Signed up for Nationwide pet insurance…

Signed up for Nationwide pet insurance through my work benefits to take care of medical expenses related to my aging cat Simba who is now 15. First claim I’ve submitted for $763 for preventative check up, vaccinations, prescription and xray scans to check a mass in his lung was denied. Reason for denial they do not cover preventative care and have deem the other treatments to a pre-existing condition. Waste of time and money

I don’t like how the processing takes long. You need to wait for like 10 to 14 days. When the claim is not that hard to be honest. Everything is there like the picture of the bill is getting sent but it still takes long and why is the monthly keeps going up.?

They are not longer great after the company changed owners

Healthy Paws used to be great. This is my 10th year with them. But earlier this year, they were sold to Chubb. Ever since they changed ownership, it has been awful! My monthly rate is now over $400 per month for a 10-year-old golden, and they suddenly reduced my 80% coverage down to 70%! In addition, claims that were once easily approved using my Vets invoice are now denied each time. I used to tell all my friends to use Healthy Paws, but I am now going to tell everyone I know to stay away from them. Be warned! Most of the positive reviews are likely from how great Healthy Paws USED TO BE, but now that they were sold to Chubb, THEY ARE HORRIBLE!

Rates go up tremendously after first year in despite not having major claims. Claims seem more difficult to submit and longer to receive.

Easy payments made outrageous vet bills manageable

I have to admit, I was unsure about getting pet insurance. It seemed unnecessary. But when our beloved bernedoodle died, Spot came though to support the vet bills. Then, when our sheepadoodle had to go to the hospital, Spot paid out the whole annual coverage. Easy. These were tough times in our dog world, but Spot Pet Insurance totally and readily did the right thing. 5 stars, for sure.
