Must have if you own pets
I'm so glad we have this insurance. My dog has had a few unexpected injuries and having the insurance has been a lifesaver for my wallet. The claims process in very simple and they pay quickly. I like that I am sent a detailed explanation with every claim too.

Quick claims response, hesitant to reimburse though
I like the ease of submitting an online claim to Nationwide, but in submitting one of my first ones, they requested I send documentation of every single vet appointment Remy has ever had.. Luckily he’s only 2 and I’ve gone to the same vet since I had him, but geez that’s insane that they wanted until I was submitting a claim to do that?? Why not request this info up front when I registered? It was really fishy to me, and just kind of proved that all insurance providers will do anything and everything to block you from getting money back. After I did obtain the documentation, it wasn’t enough. I needed FULL appointment details, including even the vet notes *eye roll*. Again, luckily, I was able to get that info and they have reimbursed me one time so far out of the 4 vet visits my dog has had. I got back more money than my last provider would ever give me! Which is awesome. But you really really have to have the time, patience, resources, and documentation to get what you’re owed. Good luck!

I wish health insurance for humans was this easy and affordable! The only thing that could be better is some improvement in the claim portal. I submitted everything, but I guess it didn't go thru a couple of times.

Thank you for following up on my dog Sam and processing the claim so fast on this one!! He is doing just fine .. the tumor they removed from his mouth was benign and he is back to his playful, normal self!

Thank you so much for your promptness in processing Zande's last claim. It was all settled before we left the vet's hospital. Such a relief to have pet insurance. Every pet owner should have insurance. Glad to say that he is on the mend and doing great. Thanks again.

Healthy Paws is awesome!
I rarely write reviews but Healthy Paws has exceeded my expectations in all regards. It is the the most amazing pet insurance, for that matter, any insurance that I have ever encountered. They are incredibly efficient, responsive, and caring. When was the last time your insurance company emailed to find out how you are feeling? Healthy Paws has reached out to me numerous times to find out how my dog is feeling. Their website is intuitive and easy to use. They follow up on claims very quickly, are very clear as to what they approve, and pay in a very timely manner. While my dog has had her share of medical issues they have not raised my premiums other than minimal increases. I really cannot rave enough about Healthy Paws. Together with my veterinarian, I consider Healthy Paws a partner in my dog’s overall care. Rikki Gross
