No delay in taking premiums but reimbursement takes too long
They do not hesitate to connect you with a rep to collect your money but when it’s time for claim reimbursement, their whole process slows way down. I understand how this pandemic can affect customer service but perhaps they should shift some staff from sales to service if they’re overwhelmed. No meaningful updates given. We’re just told to wait and be patient for 20-39 days. I’ve worked in similar industries and have never had it take so long for something like this to process.

Healthy Paws Claims Process and Customer Service is HORRIBLE
Submitting a claim through Healthy Paws is an inefficient process and extremely frustrating. Your only option is to upload photos of invoices. There’s no option for documenting your request or providing an explanation. Once the claim is filed, there is NO communication from an adjuster or representative to confirm receipt or advise of any additional, needed documentation. Healthy Paws sends multiple, vague emails stating additional information is needed, however, they do not tell you what information is needed. I had to call in numerous times to get claims resolved. Customer services is horrible, and you will spend a LOT of time just getting an answer.

My 12 year old dog Leroy had an accident where he fell off the bed in the night. This had happened at our lake house. He was rushed into the nearest town to see a vet then transferred to a specialized hospital. Many different tests needed to be done and a clear diagnosis was not found until the second stay in the hospital. Trupanion was there for us through all of the tests and finally surgery. They made this traumatic event easier to handle as we knew we wanted to give our Leroy the best chance of survival. Leroy is back home and recovering well. Thankyou Trupanion! Darci and Wade Kroening

After researching several pet insurance companies I chose spot because of the flexibility in choosing the deductible and coverages, as well as the great reviews. The policy document is easy to read and very clear as to what is and isn’t covered. I’ve already made claims under the policy and am impressed as to the communication and turn around time for approval and payment. Everything is done right in the app. They explain what is approved and what isn’t (and why). Apply the deductible, and issue a reimbursement within a couple of days. Customer service is responsive and treat you like a real person. And I even appreciate their informational emails about dog training and other helpful tips. Really happy I chose them. Highly recommend.
