Unfortunately pet parents need to get copies of their pets medical record especially if they have insurance. I took Oliver to Blue Pearl for right front and left rear lameness. Somehow the diagnosis wound up as gastroenteritis and diarrhea. When his problem did not resolve I took him to my vet for the SAME problem which she accurately noted but with the inaccurate info that Blue Pearl listed it seems as if it was a different problem. Kathleen is helping me to resolve this via an appeal.

Need wellness coverage
The lack of wellness coverage and the fact that office calls are not covered even after the deductible is met is why I would hesitate to recommend.

People recommended this insurance
Because I am known as the dog lady I am always asked and have always recommended this insurance. However in light of the recent holdup of my dog Callie's 1/30 claim due to the request of all of her medical records , I will also hold back on recommendations. Understandably , as dogs become seniors they unfortunately will get illness . It is often costly and can burden the company that wants to profit. Having 4 dogs insured and 2 are young and healthy thank god , there is profit. I would hate to think after years of paying monthly for years when they reach their golden years this scrutiny will begin.

We have been thoroughly happy with Trupanion since insuring our fur baby Cavalier since he was 10 weeks old. He is now 8. Customer service is amazing and coverage is great! We highly recommend Trupanion whenever we get the opportunity. We wouldn’t be without them! Thank you.

The deductible per illness, body part very confusing... great plan for trauma, extreme situations, marketing a bit misleading—for what claim support applies, for an average health dog. But tremendous comfort when tragic elements hit. My dog might die this weekend, but she might have a chance thanks to insurance...24 hour claim priority support was fantastic!! So compassionate, fast, and very skilled with interfacing with hospital personnel. Very impressed!
