Our trip to the emergency vet
Our trip to the emergency vet for rectal bleeding was not covered at all so hard to really rave about the coverage. We have never had occasion to use it before, thankfully.

The claims process is quick
The claims process is quick and filing a claim is very simple; in fact, my vet s office will even do it for me if I ask them. The e-mail correspondence is greatly appreciated as it allows me to know you received the claim as you confirm receipt and you advise it is being reviewed. Then, within a week or so, I receive the check in the mail with a full explanation of benefits. It could not be easier and I also like the fact that if I have any questions at all, customer service is just one phone call away and a representative is ALWAYS so easy to reach without going through the burden of navigating an automated system.

Trupanion has always reimbursed me
Trupanion has always reimbursed me for any qualified expense, no questions asked of me. When I have phoned for pre approval of procedures, the representative has been helpful, pleasant, and so far all have been approved.

Straight forward
We had three dogs when we discovered Trupanion. One had a leg amputated shortly after birth and we were advised to get the insurance for her because of the spinal problems she will be subject to. So far, this has not been a problem. We decided, however, that we could not insure one without insuring all three. And so we did. Our smallest dog developed the largest problem (kidney disease) and Trupanion has quickly paid its portion of all bills for that condition without hesitation. They offer a straight forward contract so that you are aware of what services will and will not be covered. It is a service I never expected to carry but after our experience with Trupanion it is a service I would never consider doing without.
