Trupanion helped save our cat's life
We have an indoor cat that we rescued as a small kitten. We took her to the vet, tested for the usual things, kept up to date on her shots and enrolled her in a Trupanion policy. She was completely healthy for the first 2 years of her life with one exception. Two years ago she seemed to be under the weather, her appetite was off and she wasn't as active as she had been, so we took her into the vet to have her checked. That was when, to our utter shock, we learned that she was deathly anemic. It turns out, she had been living with an undiagnosed case of feline leukemia that had slipped under the radar during her early life. The only way to save her life was with a costly blood transfusion. Luckily for us, Trupanion had our back. For three months it was an uphill battle to bring "Catniss" back around, involving multiple blood transfusions, medications, and even a few trips to a university veterinary medical center located a hundred miles away. Without an insurance policy, we would not have been able to afford all of this, but Trupanion covered everything at 90% so we were able to save Catniss without going into debt. Since then she has been doing great in general, but this past month she experienced a relapse. Trupanion helped us through it. We joke with her that she's on her 5th life now. But with Trupanion in our corner we have the benefit of being able to focus on her care instead of the costs, and to help her continue enjoying life to its fullest.

Thank goodness we have pet insurance!
So thankful that we have this insurance! When Roxi tore her cranial cruciate ligament, and we found out that she needed surgery, we were overwhelmed by the cost of the procedure. We submitted the claim and received the payment prior to the credit card payment was due! I only wish that Nationwide would reimburse claims more quickly and have an easier process for getting excluded conditions removed from policies after the designated period of time has passed.

With the rising costs of medical care for our beloved animals it is so reassuring to have insurance from Pets Best! I submitted my claim and less than 24 hours later we had our EOB and were reimbursed! I is comforting to know if we have a big bill Pets Best will have our backs! Thank you so much!

NO ONE BETTER!
Isabelle, my Golden Retriever is 6 years old. She attends daycare 4 days a week, goes to work with me one day a week, swims at an indoor dog pool year-round, and is a certified therapy companion. We visit hospitals, schools, and assisted living facilities. She pretty much goes everywhere with me. Christmas day we visited my daughter and Isabelle was running with her dog having a great time. I then heard a yelp, and she was limping badly. Spent Christmas day in the emergency with her. Turns out she was modifying her run (I think) to adapt to my daughters’ much smaller dog, and tore her ACL. This required expensive surgery and subsequent rehab work. I submitted the bill, it was quickly paid minus my deductible. These guys are awesome! One unexpected accident can cost thousands. This insurance is so worth the cost. Years ago, I had insurance with another company but got tired of all the paperwork to be filled out, only to be told denied. I have recommended Healthy Paws to everyone I know. My daughter’s dog is also insured by them. The claim process is simple. I actually take a pic and send the bill while I am at the vet’s office. The people are wonderful and what is really nice, you don’t feel like you are dealing with an insurance company trying to find a loophole to not pay. I will never go uninsured with my dog, nor should you. But the insurance is only as good as the people. That’s why it is only Healthy Paws for me! Thanks, guys! I wish my coverage was this good!

Doesn’t pay claims
We signed up for the full coverage pet insurance that includes yearly teeth cleaning. My dog had her teeth cleaned in August and she had to have some teeth pulled. Nationwide still hasn’t reimbursed me because they are trying to prove that she had some sort of pre-existing condition with her teeth. Going on 6 months is unacceptable.
