I Wish I Had Looked Into Pet Insurance Years Ago
I had always heard about pet insurance but never really checked it out, until recently. Dealing with Nationwide is a pleasure. They cover just about anything the pet needs, not just emergencies or operations, as I thought. The claiming process is easy. Just one short form to fill out. They keep you informed of the time frame, for your payment, and you don't have to keep checking with them, about where it is.

I have an older dog who was recently diagnosed with Lyme's Disease. This has been extremely hard on him but thankfully Nationwide Pet Insurance has made it easy on us for reimbursement of his medical bills, ensuring he is getting the best treatment.

Great thing to have for my dog so I don’t have to worry about the cost of his medical care.
Buying pet insurance for my last two dogs has been great. The insurance has paid substantially for everything from copperhead bites to treatment of melanoma of the iris . Also the routine care any good pet owner gets for their dog. It has relieved me from holding back from tests recommended by vet when trying to diagnose an illness. I would not want to be with out this insurance!

Good insurance but doesnt reimburse the full amount for yearly shots
I had gotten the yearly shots for my sog and sent them the reciept and I paid 196 they reimbursed me for 160 .. Then i went back for booster shots and it was 123 and they only reimburesed me 30 dollars . so I'm out over 100 for the 2 . I pay 55 a month on this insurance and because they didnt reinburse the full amount like they made it out to be im about to drop them and go to a different one .

Two thumbs down, awful, hate everything to do with them.
It has been a nightmare from day one !!!!! I have a rescue dog so getting the medical history was awful. We found out by accident that Sophie has an enlarged heart, now they say it is a pre-existing condition, and it is not covered. That's what they always say, not covered!!!!!!!!!

Nationwide insurance has been a lifesaver for us. Our 3 year old French bulldog has a variety of health issues (epilepsy, knee surgery) and nationwide helps to covered a large portion of the medical bills. Plus, claims are super easy to file through the VitusVet app.

A Little Too Much Work/Follow up For Reimbursement
Took a while to have first claims paid. Contacted through customer service email twice but never received a reply. Called customer service, representative was thorough and friendly, helped figure out what the issue was with payment. Once that was cleared up payments came quickly. Still need to clear up coverage with a second policy. Overall, once issues are ironed out coverage is great.
