New medication for cats with HCM
I've been very happy with Pets Best Insurance for my cat. Filing claims is easy and I've always had very friendly and helpful customer service support via phone calls. The company does need to update their drug formulary to include the new FDA approved medication, Felycin-CA1, which is going to give pet owners more years with their kitties. The generics aren't even on the formulary. All of the rest of my cat's veterinary care has been covered as I had hoped. Pets Best is a great insurance for pets.
Healthy Paws reminds us why pet insurance is so valuable
Healthy Paws was responsive and supportive during my dog's recent hospitalization and surgery for a broken femur. Knowing we had their insurance coverage allowed us to proceed with all of the numerous medical care he required. There were zero surprises with what they covered and they were timely and helpful throughout the process. So happy we have them!

200%+ rate increase, lower reimbursement rate
After being loyal customers for 9 years, the rates for my dog have gone up over 200%, and the deductible increased and reimbursement rate decreased. Extremely disappointing how healthy paws is punishing pet owners for their failure to plan for aging pets and making it unaffordable for those with elderly pets to get health insurance, because any other option will leave pre existing conditions uncovered.

Rating Pumkin Insurance
Pumpkin Insurance has a fairly clear and well defined policy. They make sure that your claims are promptly taken care of. They stay in-touch with their clients in cases such as when claims are filed and/or new products are available. Pumpkin is highly recommended for your pets!

appeal process
several times my pets Dr. visit wasn't routine and we weren't totally reimbursed for the Dr. visit and I have to go through the appeal process which is very inconvenient because I have to fill out and drive the paperwork to the vet to get it signed . I wish you would just look into what the visit is for and pay attention more clearly to avoid this appeal process.

I highly recommend Spot!
I purchased accident and illness insurance for my dog in 2024. I didn't have any claims that year. However, this year I have already filed 2 substantial claims. The first was for a cardiologist evaluation and EKG, totally over $1,000. Spot allow all of that claim and reimbursed me about $360 ($500 satisfied my deductible and I received 80% of the remainder, as set forth in my insurance terms). The next claim was for a tooth extraction and dental cleaning for a total of over $1,600. Except for about $5 for "pet waste/taxes," Spot again allowed all the charges. I just got a check for about $1,330! (Numbers aren't precise but the refund is 80% of the allowable costs.) Filing claims is easy as is providing the additional information they may request. Both claims were paid within a couple of weeks. On 1 occasion, I had to reach out to their customer service and this too was a very favorable experience. While the premiums are high, the cost is offset if your pet has an accident or illness. I very much recommend Spot for your piece of mind!
