Trupanion covered everything without limits
Trupanion has covered upwards of $12,000 in vet care for my dog over the last three years. She's had a run of bad luck - being attacked by bigger dogs, a (fortunately operable) cancer, and a new IBD diagnosis. Every time Trupanion has paid out immediately and without question. Yes, their monthly prices are higher than other pet insurance companies, but you're paying for quality. Their support line is also extremely helpful if you have any questions or concerns. I honestly cannot recommend Trupanion enough and will be insuring my pets through them forever!

Poor service
Poor service. They look for any reason not to pay claims. Unless you animal is a baby pet insurance is a waste of money. Save up yourself and what you we’re going to pay them put in bank. They are a waste of money

I had my dog at the vet recently and was speaking to other clients. It was then that I realized what lousy coverage SPOT actually has. I pay nearly $200 per month and the annual coverage is less than 5K. Those with Lemonade and other insurances, pay less than $100 and have coverage up to $50K. Something is wrong here.

Monthly rate increase 48%!!!!
Pumpkin has been a pretty good insure for our pet up until this last month. Monthly bill increased from from approximately $72 to 105. This is a 48% increase in rate. When I call and spoke to a pumpkin representative, they tried to say that the state of California is forcing them to do this. However, the new law gives him the option to increase the amount between 7 and 56%. Pumpkin is the one choosing to gouge their customers. Actively looking for another pet insurance company.

Healthy Paws is the absolute worst in pet insurance. I have had my 12-year old dog insured through them since he was a baby. They have crazy increases in premiums each and every year, but this year is the worst. As of August, they informed me that his reimbursement rate will decrease from 80% to 70%, and his monthly premium will increase from $287 to $397, a nearly 40% increase. This company claims to love pets and their owners, but they are obviously only interested in making money. To raise a monthly premium by 40% while decreasing the coverage, especially as the dog gets older and will need the insurance more, is a disgrace. I would never recommend any pet owner use this insurance company.
