Do not recommend

I have been with Healthy Paws for 9 years, no claims and all of the sudden they raise the premium to more than double. From $65 to $150. Their justification was that more pet owners file claims in CA right now. Wouldn't backdate my cancellation, even tho I caught it within a couple days of them hiking my rate. Super annoying to be forced to change providers at my dogs age.

Great service

They processed my claim quickly. It was surprisingly easy and I'm extremely grateful for this service. Although the annual deductible is quite high, they still saved me allot of money. Would highly recomend.

Too long to get reimbursed

In my opinion, wait for 2 or more weeks to get reimbursed is too much. My dog is with a very bad condition and I hope I can get back my 70% as contract. Every month my payment is there, on time. I wish I could have the same from them.

We're very happy with our MetLife Pet…

We're very happy with our MetLife Pet Insurance. We adopted an older kitty (10 yrs) and didn't know his medical history. We've had a couple minor issues and MetLife has been great with their coverage. With vet prices rising it's been very helpful with covering his annual wellness appointments, and will certainly come in handy for any future issues as our kitty gets older.

My experience with MetLife Pet has been mixed…

My experience with MetLife Pet has been inconsistent. When I first signed up, I had one policy for both of my dogs, but when I added a new dog to the household, I was told that was no longer allowed, so now I must have two separate policies. And the policy I have for my first dog was no longer offered, so they are different in scope and coverage, which is sometimes confusing. I also was told that my new dog had a "pre-existing condition" even though I signed her up as a 9-week-old puppy, because when she was diagnosed with a skin infection at 4 or 5 months old, there was a reference to itchiness in her files, which was classified as allergies. That was unexpected and annoying. Finally, sometimes I get reimbursed for claims quickly, within the time frame quoted in the policy. Other times, it takes longer and I have had to email and/or call and/or chat with someone to ask for an update, and I'm usually told that it's because they are waiting on SOAP notes, then the timeframe starts over. When I have provided SOAP notes, I have been told that it's processing and may take a little longer. Then, suddenly, a reimbursement notification will come along out of the blue. All of that said, most of the things I expect to be covered are covered. But one of my policies for my dogs has jumped in price to over $200 per month, and my younger dog is nearing $90/month, so I may have to look elsewhere to see what kind of options are available to me. I don't dislike MetLife Pet, but for what it costs, I'm not sure if it's worth it
