So glad we invested in Nationwide Whole pet with wellness Insurance
We are so very grateful that we decided to purchase a Nationwide Whole pet with wellness plan!!! We love out 10 month old Goldendoodle, Duke, however when he decided to eat a sock and had an obstruction the whole situation was very stressful. We were so grateful that we had the insurance which covered his surgery and 3 day hospital stay! What a blessing to be able to only worry about our amazing pup and his recovery, instead of the financial burden it may have caused our family. We are planning to add our older dog to the policy as well. I recommend this plan if you have pets that you love!!!

Great 1st year experience...
So far so good. The 1st year has been well worth it as my pup has been a handful!!! The reality is, the insurance is a math equation and you have to balance the spreadsheet to see if it makes sense for you. However if you are just looking to CYA.... PHP is the right insurance carrier

Worst Pet Insurance
I paid for almost a year and just filled one claim and they didn't pay nothing for my claim. Don't do this insurance. They just want to get your money.

Excellent coverage, no hassles with claims. Wonderful!
This insurer promises not to hike premiums due to claims, which sets it apart from all the others.

Buyer Beware.
Terrible company. Buyer beware. I wasted $300 in premiums and they never reimbursed me for a single vet visit or service. Their tactic is to send letters that say that they need MORE info. from the vet to determine the repayment. They hassled my vet for months while I paid premiums to the tune of $40 a month for the "premium" plan. Finally, after seven months of this, they sent me a notice that my cat wasn't eligible for a single service reimbursement. When I cancelled over the phone, the person on the line was all too familiar with the policy and told me to expect a check or repayment for my monthly pre-paid deposit. Four days later I receive a letter that stated that they would need 30 days to "review" my cancellation. In other words, they want to mop up that month's premium payment too. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Advice to those considering Nationwide: review the top rated pet insurers. They are nowhere near that list. I wish I had. I would have the $300 I wasted on this company to buy food and vet bills for my cat.

Horrible experience
They didn't cover a single claim that we submitted and often denied under the pretext of a "preexisting condition", even though none of the claims were related to any such condition. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for your pet's coverage needs.

The customer service was excellent.
The customer service was excellent. Kathleen was kind, patient, and very helpful. She was a pleasure to work with. The only reason recommending Trupanion to a friend was an 8 instead of a 10, is because my premium is going up $87 a month. ($1044 a year!) That is a tremendous jump that I am not prepared for nor was I expecting.

Dan and Trupanion are great.
Dan and Trupanion are great. We have been very happy with the company/service. I have already recommended you to friends. The one thing I was disappointed about was related to my question for Dan. I was hoping to add additional coverage for acupuncture and cremation to my policy. I was disappointed to learn that cremation is only available as a result of accidents, and that acupuncture is only available if the condition was already known. As a human, I have found that acupuncture has been extremely helpful for managing pain when traditional medicine has not helped a condition I am already suffering from. I understand why Trupanion has this policy, but for something like acupuncture or homeopathy, it would be nice to have the option to add even for a pre-condition. I would be willing to pay a higher price to add if it were available. Thanks!
