Trupanion provides the best coverage
I could not sleep at night if I didn't know that I was covered for unexpected illnesses and emergency treatments for my pets. Based on my pre-enrolment research, Trupanion provides the best coverage for the most reasonable premiums.

Medical care is expensive
I couldn't have afforded this medical care if I didn't have pet insurance.

Beware - Coverage goes DOWN if pet gets sick
I have been faithfully trying to keep my dog alive and happy since his terminal adrenal gland cancer diagnosis last fall. The vet visits and chemo prescriptions are very expensive and the ASPCA $3,000 per incident coverage limit, while helpful, only covers a portion of the costs. We have been paying into our policy for nearly 9 years, ever since we rescued our pup. Now I have just been told that his coverage will go DOWN for his "ongoing condition" once the year re-sets on September 1. Yeah, let that sink in a second. It's not a pre-existing condition, it's an "ongoing condition" for which we are only entitled $1,000 in reimbursement going forward. What sense does this make? A dog, or a person for that matter, with a serious incurable condition, does not need LESS coverage as time goes on, they need more. When I called the company to discuss this I was told that there are newer policies available as of a year or two ago that have better coverage for so-called ongoing conditions, but I was never made aware of those policies and I'm just stuck with what I've got. It seems to me that the ASPCA in theory would share the pet owner's goal of keeping their animal healthy and happy and well-treated as long as possible. Who would create a policy that diminishes coverage for conditions over time? Only someone worried about the bottom line. Buyer beware.

Coverage is essential but must be affordable
Initially absolutely, but fortunately she is healthy and over the years I haven’t had to use it thank god. But,it has so dramatically increased that the cost is becoming less affordable.

Easy and quick claims process
I have had bad experiences in the past with other insurance companies finding any possible way to deny my claims but I haven’t had a single claim denied by Nationwide. I love that office visits and routine care are covered (I have the Whole Pet with Wellness plan). I am now able to get my dog the best care possible and feel comfortable knowing Nationwide won’t try to find a way to deny my claims

Easy, fast, friendly service!
It is always a great comfort and huge relief to know that I am not saddled with steep vet fees for routine and unanticipated medical costs relating to our awesome rescue pup, Ralphie! Nationwide makes it so easy.

Great insurance, easy claims process
I am just completing the first year Whole Pet with Wellness policy for Barrie Moose. It has saved me quite a bit of money. The first year of a dog's life is rather expensive with multiple wellness visits and vaccines. We also experienced several GI issues which seems to have settled down with the food he is currently on. I already renewed my policy for a second year and plan to keep him enrolled for life. Hopefully, we will not have as many claims next year but it is good to know we are covered should there be an unexpected illness or accident. I look forward to getting another standard poodle puppy next year and will also purchase a Whole Pet with Wellness policy for the new pup. The Vet HelpLine has been very helpful and is a nice perk to have.

Thanks for your financial assistance. It helped keep my buddy with me.
What can I say, Nationwide insurance saved my Labradors life several times. JB has been treated for cancer, diabetes, ingestion of a foreign object and ACL repair.. Without Nationwide Pet Insurance JB wouldn't l be here with us. After ingestion of a foreign object JB had a 5 day inpatient hospital stay costing $13,000 Nationwide took majority of the burden for that visit and allowed me to provide care to JB until he regained his strength. Currently JB is a diabetic relying on 2 injections of insulin per day. The monthly cost of Insulin is roughly $175 and Nationwide covers that cost. Even though JB has so many health related issues , Nationwide premium stayed manageable. Reimbursement for claims is very quick and done on the computer. If your on the fence about insurance coverage for your pet, take my advise its worth every cent. People pay more for cable TV per month than it costs to cover your pet. Think about whats more important. Nationwide I thank you so much for your support. Sincerely,
