Insurance companies for humans could learn a lot from Embrace - outstanding!
I don't know how much more perfect pet insurance could be. All of my experiences with them over 7 years, insuring three dogs, have been remarkable, but the most recent was astonishing. We needed fairly expensive surgery, totaling about $5,000. Within only 1 week, Embrace reimbursed exactly according to the terms of the policy, covering every one of many different surgical line items in full. Their communication at every step of the process is excellent, with an almost immediate email to say they have received the claim and then very quick and fully transparent follow-up. I did extensive research on all available options before selecting Embrace. While it is very slightly more expensive than many others, it is so worth it. Strongly recommend!

This company is a sham - don’t trust them
My Persian kitty had asthma, and we had a series of hospital visits. We have had Trupanion for several years, and have been paying the premium faithfully for both of our cats before our kitty got diagnosed with asthma. Our vet at Adobe and South Bay Animal Hospital submitted our very first invoices, and Trupanion denied all claims. No explanation offered. These people are crooks, and I highly recommend you don’t use them. We are now in the process of hiring an attorney to recover the amount of the claims. Just not worth dealing with this company. Stay away. I’m going to submit this review everywhere I can to help people be better informed of this fraudulent company that feeds on our live for our pets.

Always a fight
They have really gone down hill in the last few years. Signed my dog up first year was 80$/mo by the time his second birthday came around it was $185/mo. Called and was told it was inflationary. Wow funny how my vet’s fees haven’t gone up 235%. Guess the new underwriter needs to recoup from my wallet. Every claim I made they refused at first. Vet constantly argued On the phone with them to get some coverage for a 30$ bottle of pills or ointment for an eye infection. Very disappointed and switched companies. Better coverage for half the price. Save yourself the hassle.

Best insurance company ever
We decided to get insurance for our dog after the neighbor’s dog ate a ball and cost them upwards of $8000. Ever since we have had trupanion, we have had nothing but awesome customer service, quick claims and they have never made excuses not to pay us the 90% due. About a year after getting Trupanion, our dog started to suffer the effects of environmental/seasonal allergies, leading us to have to be referred to a specialist and the tests and medications have cost us upwards of several thousands. Trupanion has always paid us back the 90% promised for his tests and medicines- saving us thousands. We are really happy with Trupanion.

Not beneficial for me.
As having a young dog with no huge issues, I find this not beneficial for me. The deductible is $500 per each issue and I would want to use it for any issue.

Trupanion is great
I've been with Truoanion for over 12yrs now with my two pugs and it's been great! They unfortunately have had a number of different health conditions between the two of them over the years. But thanks to Trupaion who always came through for us made the experience much less costly which in turn gave me the ability to give my pugs a better quality of life.
