100% recommend

100% recommend. Super easy to submit a claim and the money goes directly to my bank account. I used to be a vet tech and my greatest advice to anybody is insurance, insurance, insurance and don’t wait!! I’ve had Pets Best for about 3 years with my first dog and adopted a puppy back in December who I immediately added to our plan. Within 2months of having her she needed to go to the ER for urinary issues. Thank god she was covered. Every few months she’s had to go for labs and I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without Pets Best. Unfortunately, the vet just confirmed at her 1 year old appt she has kidney dysplasia. It’s not the diagnosis we wanted but I don’t have to worry about providing her with the best treatments/life because her insurance through Pets Best is so great. Thank you Pets Best!!

What impressed me was the lady taking her time to fully answer my question and match me with a plan that covers my two cats and 2 dogs. And she got me discounts. Being a almost 70 year old and on a fixed income. Which is being able to afford coverage for my babiesM

Read the fine print before you choose…

Read the fine print before you choose your plan. The deductible is a bit of a scam where they apply your % rate to the eligible expenses before they apply it to your deductible. So if you choose 50% rate, it will take you twice as much money to reach the deductible. I think that’s shady marketing but aside from that we still use this company. They are efficient and easy to submit claims.

Look elsewhere for good pet insurance

Beware. Dishonest company that does not care about your dog once it's a senior. On the positive side, I've always had very fast claim turnaround and little problem with what's covered, and I do think HP is still a great plan for younger dogs -- but they will literally price you out as your pet ages. The language regarding premium increases taken from Healthy Paws own website in 2016 when I signed up was: "Due to the increasing cost of veterinary care, your rates will increase slightly each year." My premium increases were reasonable until last year. Last year my rate increase went from $155.53 to $346.24 (11 year old dog). I expect the next year's premium increase will be so much I will be forced to cancel. Of course at this point my pet has pre-existing conditions so another carrier will not be an option. They never even responded to my email inquiry about my rate increase. Look elsewhere! I so regret trusting this company with my best friend's health.
