Definitely Get Insurance!
I have coverage for two dogs and one cat. One of my dogs and my cat have rarely (if ever) used the coverage, HOWEVER - my second dog was diagnosed with cancer at only a 1.5 years old. I never had to consider cost when choosing the best possible care for him. Filing claims was easy, and I was paid quickly. I had one very minor issue with a claim; I called HealthyPaws, the customer service was exceedingly nice, and they fixed it immediately. When friends discuss adopting a dog, it's the first thing I suggest. Get. Insurance. You never want to have to make a medical decision based on what you can or can't afford.

Trupanion has been a life saver.
We have had Trupanion for our dogs since we got them. In general, they have been very healthy. About a year ago, our pup developed seizure disorder. It has been difficult and expensive to treat. Trupanion has made it possible for him to receive the absolute best care, including seeing some of the best doctors in their field. Without that level of care, I am not sure if he would have survived. Claims are always paid promptly. On the few occasions when I have had to contact customer service, they have been wonderful. Really, really helpful. I have recommended Trupanion many times and will certainly continue to do so.

Unethical Claims Processing
Be very careful at what they consider "pre-existing" because they actually list symptoms that could be caused by a multitude of reasons. They will do whatever they can NOT to cover a claim, even go as far as to manipulate the information to suit their needs. Then they don't follow their own precedence, in spite of doctor's notes that prove that a "condition" did not exist prior to the insurance effective date. Very unethical organization.

Horrible, Waste of Time, Money & Effort
My experience with Trupanion was horrifying. They do not care about animals or the clients. I would NEVER ever recommend this insurance company to anyone unless I truly hated that person. This insurance company is a scam and they try to get out of helping and paying for vet bills. When they say they work with vets in your best interest they lie and falsify information.

Exceptional customer service with warm support in a troubling time.
We are extremely impressed by Trupanion's customer service (especially over the phone, with the warmth of the response to all our questions in a troubling time for our dog's health) and how quickly the claim was reviewed and also processed. We've had insurance with Trupanion since our dog was a puppy and it's one of the best pet decisions we've ever made. Thanks Trupanion!

Pets Best is the greatest
My husband and I have been adopting elderly Saint Bernards for over 20 years. Being elderly, they usually have illnesses that cost big bucks. As soon as we get the dogs we insure them with Pets Best. The final illness of many of our old guys has cost around $10,000. Pets Best has always treated our dogs great and they have gotten any treatment that they needed. We highly recommend Pets Best Insurance.
