Exceeds all expectations!
Healthy Paws has far exceeded any expectations I may have had in every aspect, including coverage, service and (yes, really) compassion. I have been a commercial insurance broker for over 40 years, and in the past thought pet insurance was a scam. I was always a cat owner, and never experienced any need for vet care. We got Minnie, our first dog ( a MinPin), ten years ago, and it's been a wonderful adventure. After her first illness and hospitalization, which cost $4000 (uninsured), I did some research on pet insurance options. In addition to competitive pricing and plan designs (90% w/$100 Ded) Healthy Paws was the only Pet Insurance carrier I found (there may be others) without an annual maximum, and that was a major requirement for me, so we applied. In the last few years Minnie has had regular need for advanced vet care and hospitalization, and to say that I've been impressed with Healthy Paws response would be an understatement. This is evidenced most recently when poor Minnie was diagnosed with diabetes. Healthy Paws, as usual, handled every aspect of that claim with incredible speed, professionalism and, as always, great communication. The acid test came several months ago, when Minnie developed cataracts and went blind. It was heartbreaking. We discovered that cataract surgery was possible for dogs, and was very successful, but also very expensive. Rather than just turn in a claim and 'hope for the best' I contacted HealthyPaws to see if I could 'per-certify' the surgery. Their response was fast and positive, as was the ultimate processing of the claim. There was no hesitancy, and there was no issue having the surgery on both eyes. They seemed surprised I was even worried about their response. But not only that, they contacted us after the claim was paid, and asked how Minnie was doing, showing real personal concern. I was amazed at this level of personal service. I am a firm believer in transferring what I believe to be a significant risk (uninsured veterinary care beyond well care) to insurance, and my choice is clearly Healthy Paws, for the reasons outlined above. Highly Recommended.

Maisy teeth extraction
When the form was faxed from the Vinegar hill vet grp to the claims Dept, I got an email stating some items were missing. I brought the form back over to the vet and they resent the same form again then it was resolved.

A little slow but gets the job done...
After I submitted my first claims ($1000 worth in the first 4 months of having the insurance) I started reading reviews so I got worried that I may not get paid. A lot of them said if they do pay you they will reduce the amount to something they think is reasonable. I kept calling and calling them because I was worried this would happen. It took a month but I was paid in full (at the 90% deductible rate on my contract). Overall, the experience made me add my new puppy to the same insurance as well and got a 10% discount by doing so. My 8 month old Shih Tzu was born with Kidney Disease which obviously no one knew... and now the pet insurance is paying for all of her tests and follow up visits.

Outstanding service, They came through when I needed it.
I was watching a vet show on TV, "The Bionic Vet". It got me thinking that I should get pet insurance. It had been may year since I had owned a dog and I knew vet expenses had gone up considerably. I did my research and decided on the ASPCA insurance. I kid you not, in less than two months my dog torn his ACL and meniscus. If it weren't for the insurance I have I don't know what I would have done. I HIGHLY recommend the ASCAP insurance. Not only were they there for me but they called me during Dukes recovery process inquiring about how he was doing. A++++ service. Will never be without them.

Great company.
Great company. As one of your (regretfully!) heavier ‘users’, we are extremely happy we signed the ‘kids’ up when they were young. We never imagined we would need to use Trupanion as much as we have. We are eternally grateful and pleased with the service. Amy

I think unexpected visits to the vet for emergency exams should be covered.
I think unexpected visits to the vet for emergency exams should be covered. I pay many times more to see the vet than for the medication, but I cannot get what Gus needs without paying to see the vet. If it’s an unexpected cost associated with ongoing medical issues that are not a regularly scheduled matinence visit, it seems like that should contribute to the deductible.
