Thankful to have Nationwide
Nationwide continues to not disappoint. it's such a relief to have them as a resource when my cat is sick. This is the first year my cat has had any medical issues outside of wellness checks and vaccines and nationwide has processed all my claims quickly and efficiently. Each claim takes about 10 days to 2 weeks from start to finish and has been a completely hassle free experience. Dental procedures are extremely expensive and it was a life saver to have this coverage to help with the cost.

What IS covered?
Dog had ear infection. Doctor prescribed medicine. Claim was denied. Company said this was preventitive. Reported company to Colorado insurance commissioner.

Rates increase without ever really getting decent coverage
VERY disappointed... have paying for the insurance for 2 years. Rates increased both times and have received yet another significant increase (I'm guessing because my dogs turned 8 years old). Have never put in a claim for anything other than their well-visits and flea/tick and heartworm medicine. The one time I need to bring my dog in because he was sick, every claim was denied. Apparently I never met the deductible -- my question is if that's true, why do you keep raising my rates???!? Obviously my dogs are healthy.

The best service ever
Recently we had to take our cat to the vet because she was peeing blood; upon examination and a few x-rays it was determined that she had bladder stones. After discussing all the possible options, we realized the only choice we had was for her to have surgery due to the size of the stones. The total bill for all services was over 3k, but healthy paws made the claim process so seamless that we did not worry about financials one bit... they even worked with our vet office to pay them for the surgery directly, so I did not have to worry about paying a few thousand dollars up front. Do yourself a favor and get healthy paws pet insurance for your furry babies

What a relief in times of need Healthypaws definitely comes through!!
I cannot express how thankful I am to have healthypaws pet insurance for my poor 5 month old newfoundland puppy. I have always wanted a newfoundland and this past June I purchased the perfect puppy, Odin, from the greenfield puppies sight. After an 8 hour drive and a great deal of money I arrived home with this handsome ball of silver fluff only to find that it appeared that he had a UTI after a week or so of having him. With further investigation, and over $3,000 in vet bills thus far we found out that my poor Odin has a terribly Kidney problem that could possibly terminal. On top of all of this two weeks ago Odin developed a problem with his paw that landed him in my local Emergency Veterinarian Specialist office! They were unsure if he had a fractured growth plate or a torn ligament. So yet again a few thousand dollars later and a night in the hospital we came to find that it was only a swollen fluid pocket that housed a nasty bacterial infection (they believe this could have been because of digging in the yard and getting stung by a wasp!). I could have never afforded the wonderful care that my fur baby received without the aid of Healthypaws. Throughout the last few months it has been a hectic rollercoaster but knowing that I had healthypaws insurance to help cover the costs of treatment I never had to worry about the financial aspect of care and got to solely focus on Odin getting better.

I highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance!
We’ve had the policy with Nationwide since our dog was a puppy. It has saved us many times over every time she has to go to a vet which has been more often than we had anticipated. A quick turn around time and a great customer service!

Mostly acceptable service of my claim.
It took much longer for the claim to be processed than I expected but I assume this has to do with the fact that this was my first claim. I hope that future plans will be processed faster

We are so glad that we switched insurance companies, as this provides comprehensive support of our dog, from wellness visits to prescriptions to injuries/sickness. The only reason I ranked it a 9 instead of a 10 is that submitting a claim is very tedious. I have found that the vitus vet app is much easier to use when submitting a claim.
