Pet insurance must have for new puppies - and best of 3 insurers tried to date!
Purchased day 10 week puppy came home and $1,850 reimbursements later very glad I did (premium about $445 for 90% reimbursement after $500 deductible). Fast human phone customer service and offer waiver from 6-month waiting period for orthopedic issues if have vet do exam after purchase. Also having used two other insurers in past for other pets; prefer one deductible for all issues not new for each; specialists being paid at same amount as regular vet; and initial diagnostic vet visits covered (not all do - we have been at least 10 times the past 11 months). Only recommendation is claim submission form as requires 1 invoice per submission. My mini-aussie contracted severe case of Giardia that continued for about 4 months (many dogs have parasite it but never suffer effects). Four courses of treatment later it also effected her overall digestive health including vomiting and ongoing food irritations. Then after antigens gone; she caught kennel cough a couple months ago probably at doggy day care. Through it all Embrace has approved every claim submitted with no questions besides vet medical records - or hassle - and the check arrives 10 to 14 days later. In the beginning there were some claim issues related to vet billing changes but I quickly spoke to a supervisor. She has been very professional, and empathetic, and is just an e-mail away if a payment tardy (been about 20). I just received the policy renewal quote and was estatic so see no increase (unlike Go Pet Plan which I used several years ago for another dog - went up 10% annually first few from puppy initial plan to 15% by year 6 so dropped). Also used Healthy Paws in past for cat but when compared before buying this time it was more expensive.

Be smart and get a Healthy Paws policy!
Healthy Paws made it possible to save our fur baby’s life. He is a three year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and we went to the vet with an eye injury and learned it wasn’t healing because he didn’t have any platelets. After a week in the emergency room and multiple tests, he was diagnosed with Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia. It was a very emotional stressful time and we thought we were going to lose our baby. We are so grateful and appreciative that we had Healthy Paws so we weren’t also burdened with financial stress of taking care of our guy. Now we have to routinely visit the vet for bloodwork and keep him on medication, so we have had multiple claims and we have never had any issues with Healthy Paws reimbursing us. Instead we get an email asking how our guy is and wishing us well. I can’t recommend them enough! We made sure to get a Healthy Paws policy when we decided to have another fur baby.

So thankful for Healthy Paws!!
I recently rescued a pupper in March. My friends at work mentioned getting insurance for him. I thought to myself, no way he would ever need it! I signed up anyway just in case. The monthly fee is not much- just cut back on a few Starbucks drinks :). Connor ended up with a large mass on his leg. It was a very scary time because I had bonded so much with this dog and I was terrified for surgery and being able to afford it. Thank goodness I had Healthy Paws who answered all of my questions and made the process so easy. The app is fantastic and it is so easy to submit claims. They process quickly and the next thing you know, they are paying back up to 80%. Getting pet insurance through Healthy Paws was the best thing I’ve ever done!! I am so thankful for them!

Quick and Easy
Starting with Figo’s Customer service. There was never a wait or hold period when I called. My dog needed ACL surgery, I was calling a few times a week with questions and concerns. Each representative was respectful, knowledgeable, and truly concerned about the well being of my dog. The woman on the other end of the phone remembered me and we would be able to continue our conversation from the previous day. Filing a claim was just as painless. I filed a few claims and requested a pre approval for the surgery. My vet was quick to send records to keep Figo up to date. I was receiving claim responses within 3-5 business days, and reimbursement checks within the next 3-5 days. Th explanation of benefits were clear and easy to read. Services were itemized and explained clearly. I talk to so many people who do not have pet insurance. After needing pet insurance and having a positive and successfully experience- I would recommend it to anyone.

If you want to protect your animal from any accidental injuries or sicknesses for a good rate, this is the company to go to. My 18 week old Pomeranian has a chance to beat the parvovirus due to this amazing company. THANK YOU SO MUCH TRUPANION! The best thing I’ve ever done for my dogs and I.
I had considered Pet insurance for a long time but couldn’t decide if it was worth the money. After two knee surgeries for my dog that has passed and complications with both I had spent $20000 in two years time. I knew I had to do something different because I couldn’t afford to go through that again. I asked my vet who she suggested and the girls at the desk and her both answered Trupanion without hesitation. I looked into it found a combination of monthly payment and deductible I could afford and signed up. In 6 months it has more than paid for an entire lifetime of monthly payments. Every claim I have submitted that fit within the agreement I originally signed up for has been approved. Thanks to Trupanion my dogs are always taken care of and I can rest easy. I always tell everyone I meet with a pet how great Trupanion has been for us and that they are worth checking out.
