Nationwide get 10/10, 5* and two thumbs up from me and my three pups
I've had pet insurance on all my dogs since 1998 with three different companies over the years. Nationwide now gets my business because of their customer service, prices, efficiency of filing a claim using the app and speed of repayment and direct deposit. But more importantly I love the inclusion of dogs who are breed by responsible breeders. I breed Longhaired Weimaraners and I do wish pet insurance companies would take into account the thousands of dollars we spend on Pinn Hip, OFA and DNA testing and give discounts based on the data we get from those tests that prove our dogs are healthy.

Takes a level of anxiety off our shoulders
It’s hard having a dog with chronic problems. To be able to not think twice concerning the cost of going to the vet, I’m keeping my dog fit and healthy. The process of entering the bills is another example. The VITUS app is amazing.

People there understand the emotions of the "owner" of the sick animal.
Our puppy has had a rough start but she is getting better. We have had to make several claims and the response so far has been fair and clear. We've been very grateful to have insurance so we could get good care for her.

A Great Stress Reliever
Nationwide pet insurance has been a great relief for me having a new kitten in the house. Having a kitten is expensive, but with nationwide paying a big chunk of her kitten shots, wellness visits, and spaying it has been a great help. I don't have to choose between the health of my fur baby and my wallet. It has been beyond easy to make a claim and I have received the money straight into my bank account in less than a week every time. I will never have a pet in the future without having this.

I think some of the food should be covered. she needed the special diet as per the vet and you should have covered some if not all. we may look in a different direction for her future insurance

Great service hindered by an updated claim system
So far im extremely happy to have the insurance, its been so great to have for our senior cat so we can keep her in good health and check ups without having to worry about the medical costs. The largest issue is the out date claim system requiring photos/faxes/scans of the documents vs just an online form. Its extremely inefficient to have to print out papers, fill out by hand, take photos, email them and wait and hope they were submitted correctly where I than assume a claim agent has to manual fill out the information and read peoples hand writing.

Very easy claim process
Great experience. Submitting the claim was as easy as just sending an email out. Also got our reimbursement on time, Chase direct deposit was simple and easy too. However, before I knew I could just email my claim, I was on the website trying to do an online submission for a while -- I didn't know that you can just fill out the form and just attach it to an email to submit which was way easier than doing it on the website (I remember having to refresh my page a couple of times, the web experience wasn't very smooth).... wish this "send an email" method was a bit more upfront because I only realized I can do it this way later. That info was hidden somewhere.
