Simply put, probably the best interaction I have had with ANY insurance carrier. Cooper broke his canine and it required a root canal. We had bought the policy right when we got him at 9 weeks and never had used it until his accident. Root canal for a dog is even more expensive than for a human as there are only a few specialists that do it. Healthy Paws was happy to help, didn't fight the claim at all, just asked for the supporting documentation. The procedure was covered as advertised and Cooper is back to his old self with 3 1/2 canines. HealthyPaws actually wanted to help, worked with us, didn't make us feel like we had to fight them, and even followed up with a note about a week after his procedure to see how he was doing. Highly recommended and already have had 2 other friends purchase it as well.

Grateful I kept the coverage
I got this insurance when I adopted Waldo back in 2012 and never used it until this year. Filing the claim(s) has been really easy and they payout quickly (Less than a week). The one thing that I did not understand (because it is not this way with any other insurance) is this - I have a $500 deductible with a 80/20 coinsurance split. They take the 80/20 on the deductible too which means I actually have to pay out $625 before they consider that I have reached the deductible. That was a bummer.

Trupanion good coverage for my dog.
My puppy has had a few episodes with ear infections in the last two years. I am quite happy with the amount of coverage and receiving a check so fast. Thank you.

So far so good.
So far so good. The only thing is that I don't remember being told that a promotional 30-day period would apply to my coverage and the payout during that period was lower than for my regular coverage. I was surprised when a claim was paid a lower % but I reached out via chat and Alan was able to answer by questions fully.

Thank god for Trupanion Insurance
Me and my late wife have 13 or 14 dogs and I’m not sure I think we had insurance on at least half of them. But my last 2 dogs thank god I had insurance (Buck) he passed away in July the year before had to get 2 screws & metal plate to build his knee up. Now Charlie he has a limping problem with his leg and again thank god I have you guys. Thanks for all what you guys do!!!! Mike Crane

I chose Healthy Paws because of the flexibility in choosing the deductible and coverages, as well as the great reviews. I have had to make two claims thus far for my dog. Submitting the claim could not be easier. (All online as well). Since they had all my dog’s medical history up to date, the second claim was submitted, processed, and paid within 2 business days. I appreciate the follow-up emails as well checking up on her health. I am happy I chose them and highly recommend.

Absolute lifesaver
Healthy Paws has saved us so many times. We had it for about 9 years with our dachshund who had a handful of accidents (chocolate, allergic reaction, heart failure) The policy took care of us right up until the end and it was incredible peace of mind to never have to worry about the cost of her care. They were quick to process claims and send out checks. So, when we rescued a new puppy, we got healthy paws right away. It has already helped us tremendously with unexpected issues. I tell all my friends with pets to strongly consider healthy paws!! I worked in reception at a veterinary hospital for 4 years and saw the bills that piled up for dogs and cats having accidents, needing hospitalization, or long term management of a newly diagnosed issue. I think a lot of people mistakenly thought pet insurance in general was a scam but it definitely isn’t and Healthy Paws is #1 far as we are concerned.
