Pathetic customer service, no responses and no resolutions/
Horrible experience. A long time to process claims. I went here as there was a phone number. No one answers, got through to someone once after waiting 38 minutes. My pet had an illness you with 3 tests you approved one as health related and denied the other two as not health related, however they were. I emailed to explosions this and it takes weeks to get a generic response with no resolutions! Stay away the worst ever

Amazing Pet Insurance Support
We originally acquired pet insurance for our dog thinking that we wanted to protect him from the general and acute health issues that might arise for a dog like a broken limb or ingesting something he shouldn't have. As it turned out, our dog has some complicated chronic bowel and internal organ interactions which have been challenging and time consuming to properly diagnose and treat. Trupanion has been so supportive and easy to deal with on so many occasions and even during those late night hospital visits on weekends that inevitably arise. It has been a long journey but one where we could focus on loving our dog and not having to stress about financial decisions for his health. We now have a young daughter who loves and adores him and its so amazing to watch them interact and had it not been for the support from Trupanion, our little guy might not have been here to meet her! We've recommended Trupanion to so many of our friends and family and we've heard nothing but great things from all of them.

My dog has better health insurance than I do!
We have had Healthy Paws Insurance for a couple of years for my now 10 year old Heeler-Shephard mix, Osa. I consider it one of the best decisions we made. The ease and simplicity of filing claims and the speed at which the reimbursement check arrives is a blessing. Customer service has been kind, timely, responsive and personal. Osa just had ACL surgery to the tune of 8k. Knowing that Healthy Paws would be covering 80% of that bill made the whole process smoother. We could concentrate on our sweet dog and her needs and not worry about the bill. I would highly recommend this insurance company to anyone looking to insure their pet. Truly my pet has better health insurance than I do!

I have been with Trupanion for over 10 years - My dog Barry had ACL surgery on both rear legs then went into renal failure at the end of his days meaning that he spent several days in hospital.
I have been with Trupanion for over 10 years - My dog Barry had ACL surgery on both rear legs, then went into renal failure at the end of his days meaning that he spent several days in hospital. My other dog, Austin, just underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured tumor on his spleen, again resulting in a hospital stay. Trupanion took the additional stress out of having to find payment for all the services by working with the facilities and pre-approving the procedures extremely quickly. I only had to worry about finding the initial deductible and resulting co-pays. Any questions that I have ever had have been answered quickly, and their staff are all professional and extremely personable at the same time. I have recommended Trupanion to multiple people, some of whom became very happy customers, and I will continue to do so - They are a great company.

Trupanion has greatly declined over the 10 years I have been with them.
Trupanion has greatly declined over the 10 years I have been with them. Rates continuously increase, claims don't processes without you staying on top of them. The employee's apologize for delays but its constant. I only have 1 dog left with Trupanion my other 4 are with another insurance at this point.

Questionable increases on rates
I’ve had my pet insured with Healthy Paws for almost 5 years and overall they’ve covered much less than half of my emergency visits I’ve had. They’ve been increasing my monthly rate every year now, most recently almost double the current monthly. Most likely they’ve taken into account the age of my pet and trying to get me to quit the policy so they can profit from my previous years of coverage. They advertise how much you save you and care about your pet but the bottom line is that they’re an insurance company that is only looking out for their bottom line. I suspect this probably goes for many of their competitors. Ultimately if you can afford it it may be worth it to buy insurance for your pet but not with Healthy Paws due to their recent price increases.
