I got insurance to protect against the fees with chronic/catastrophic incidents. I hoped to never use it. My pup’s cancer diagnosis was heartbreaking. Not great but got the job done.
The hospital had trouble confirming coverage from Trupanion and my cat's emergency procedure was delayed because of this. It ended up getting resolved after his procedure. I had to sign up for a credit card to cover the down payment which was not ideal for me. I'm glad it was eventually resolved but the whole ordeal added to an already stressful situation.
