Better than human medical insurance
Met Life Pet has been great for us. It is far easier than our human insurance. Just take your pet to the vet and get a copy of the bill and the SOAP notes. Take a picture in the app and click submit. It usually takes 2 to 5 days for us and we get reimbursed directly into our checking account.

Cheaters. Stay away from healthypaws. They are misleading at best.
Big words, no coverage. Make ASS-U-ME-tions all the time to deny coverage. Try other better companies. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Sachin, We're never happy when we have to deny a claim for a client. All claim decisions are based on your pet’s medical records and the signs/symptoms that are noted in those records by your veterinarian. Most pet insurance companies including Healthy Paws use a pet's medical records to determine if there are any pre-existing conditions that would keep us from approving a claim. While your Healthy Paws plan covers the costs of veterinary treatment related to an accident, illness or injury where the clinical signs or symptoms were first present after the enrollment date and waiting periods, pre-existing conditions are not covered by your plan. As such, we were unable to provide coverage for your recent claims as that condition was pre-existing. Our team has provided more detailed information in their emails to you, including information on our claims appeal process.
Such A Scam - Not Worth It
We have been paying this provider for over 9 years. It went from $70 payments to $210 a month over the years. We calculated we have paid over $14,000. In our dogs 9th year, he started having issues. Several visits to the vet and zero reimbursement from Fetch. Also, with each visit comes a possible claim, and each claim has a $400 deductible. There is no winning. You are better off to take that money every month and put it in a separate account, then use it as needed. Bonus if your dog hardly gets sick, then you can use it as you see fit. Pet insurance is a total scam. Very disappointed. Waste of money, would not recommend.

Total ripoff
I submitted several receipts from the vet, only one of which was applied to my deductible. However, in the many claims that were denied there were medications listed that I was certain were covered. (as I searched and printed out a very lengthy list) These claims were denied, even though the bills were itemized to show that some, if not all, of the meds should have been at least applied to my deductible. I will be disposing of this next year. Guess I have to stick it out now so as not to lose the small amount of credit I have accrued towards the deductible now.

Easy, friendly, and reliable
Rates are reasonable, the policies are clear and easy to understand, and claims are processed super quickly. We've had great experiences with Healthy Paws for both our pets. They even reached out after one was recently hospitalized just to check in on how she was doing!

False advertisement
They advertise benefits that won't work once you desire to use them. Like any other insurance it is a scam, really disappointed, a lot of people recommended I not go with them, and use a different provider but I liked the Wellness benefits, definitely I don't recommend them, the customer service is okay and they answer pretty fast, but the policies have small letters like any other insurance the difference here is that they have stuff announced and they won't follow what they promised.

Accurate information regarding coverage or policy
I was disappointed to find out that an overnight emergency stay, some medications weren't covered and any exams fees at the vet! In my opinion, anything involved with an emergency visit should be covered since a pet owner most definitely cannot fix their pet themselves! We are truly grateful for the insurance but we do also pay for it. I am also disappointed that when I called about coverage the morning before bringing our dog to the vet as an emergency visit, the agent told me that what my deductible would be, the 10% on the owner's part wasn't mentioned & she also said that any after-care medications would be covered. I also called a second time; day of the surgery, inquiring again about expected costs. I was not told that if there was an overnight stay, the emergency exam & that not all medications would be covered. Our understanding of what we had expected was to play our $250 deductible. Again; we are truly thankful to have insurance, but cost of what's not covered should definitely be brought forward instead of getting a shock! We expected to possibly pay $500/$600 ourselves but not over $1000 out of our own pocket! It was scary enough not knowing if our per was going to be ok but having to second guess costs was stressful as well. A friend of ours started a fundraiser to help us pay the rest of what we didn't have the $ to pay. We had to also travel 1 hour and a half to the nearest available vet. Thankfully Clarenville Vet Hospital is very understanding & is flexible in helping their customers & pets. They didn't cause any further stress of the outstanding balance that we still have. Not fully impressed with the lack of information given when I called to inquire about what to expect.

Dishonest
We have had a good experience for the last two years until now. The last two years our claims were insignificant amounts and Pets Best had no issues paying out. This last month our dog needed knee surgery which from diagnostics to post op follow ups is over $7k. They denied our claim based on our dog having had knee surgery on his other knee 3 years prior. I spoke with a representative over the phone on choosing the correct coverage with full disclosure of previous knee surgery and other preexisting conditions. The representative told me which coverage to get and that his knee would be covered if God forbid he needed it. So here we are stuck with this medical bill and not even the initial diagnostics to determine what was wrong with his limb was not even covered. Pets Best is a waste of time and money since they will not pay out for bigger claims. I’m very disappointed!

Always a catch
I’ve had this insurance for one of my dogs for years. They don’t pay for exams yet their premiums are no different than other insurance companies. They refused to pay a claim stating it was wellness that I submitted as there was a possibility of parasites again. I filed an appeal and they still refused. I’m just not sure pet insurance is worth it anymore. They always find a way to deny claims. I would not recommend this company.

We’re sorry for any confusion with your claim. Your claim was denied under the wellness exclusion. Since the invoice only noted a parasite exam without any medication, without clarification it appeared to be wellness related. A member of our Customer Care Team replied to your email on 7/10 noting that if you would like to have the claim reviewed, we would need medical records from that visit. We never received a response, nor were records submitted. As such an appeal case was not started. We are happy to take a second look at this claim for you if you simply provide either the date of service examination notes for the test or a letter of clarification from your veterinarian. The examination fee is a plan exclusion and as such is not eligible for coverage. We strive to be completely transparent about this exclusion and our entire policy. Information about this is available prior to and after enrollment via the Frequently Asked Questions on our website and in our online sample policy.
Love MetLife
I Have purchases and used other pet insurance policies in the past years but have never been as happy with any as I am with MetLife. My claims are paid within 2 weeks, and it is so easy to file. I am very pleased with everything about this company.
