Always good service but need higher caps on payments
The customer service from ASPCA pet health insurance is first-rate, and this insurance has been a godsend, as I have 3 cats, and they have had many ailments over the years; however, even though I have continuous care polciy, 2 of them have capped out on certain ongoing problems, and I can no longer receive any reimbursement for those particular problems. The caps need to be much higher because, animals, like humans, often have ongoing medical conditions that continue to need treatment, and a $3000 lifetime cap on a major illness is way too low, particularly when an animal has required treatment for that same condition for several years. I have always paid my premiums on time and in good faith but am beginning to wonder if I should continue to carry coverage if I cannot get more financial help when it is needed.

The next best thing since slice bread
I couldn't be more pleased. I have had four wolfhounds including Emma. The vet bills are huge!! This policy saved me hundreds and paid for itself in two visits for the whole year! Now, I only pay 10% of the cost for everything. Emma got her looonnnng tail caught in the car door and had about a 2 inch avulsion at the end of her tail. And as wolfies have happy tail, it was like a CSI crime scene from the wagging. It is taking a while, three weeks, to heal, but it had to be wrapped. I have an amazing vet, but we have had to go back every three days to get it checked. I am so happy that I purchased this insurance. I researched a bunch of companies and this is truly the best of the best.

Premiums increase year by year, while claims are ruled ineligible. In retrospect, I would have been much better off to have cancelled Trupanion Pet Insurance years ago, and put the monthly premium in a savings account dedicated to pet care.

I wish Trupanion s coverage would encompass a little more. B4 dental work is done the vet wants blood work done @$200. The procedure is 250 to 300 . extractions are $75 EACH. You say youll cover but what%? On extractions. I started paying 36 a few years ago and i was told expenses are going up thats why it was raised to $52 now? So she tells me not Mckinna, another ph call, that Trupanion gets many requests for coverage. I said whats that have to do with me? Am i to help pay for their coverage when i havent even put in one claim yet. This is my first. So its only for major surgeries then? Whi c h might hopefully never happen. So at $600 per year if my dog lives to 12 yrs old i ve paid you guys $ 7200 for peace of mind having never used the coverage. At least help me on some of the more minor issues in the interim. This is my only gripe otherwise reps are always pleasant and helpful.

Trupanion has been a true life saver
Trupanion has been a true life saver for my dog Bentley who has a rare blood cancer. I do alternative medicine because he is a collie and chemo therapy is not a good option for him because he is MDRI. Thank you Trupanion for being able to afford to treat Bentley.

They Paid 90% of our claims minus our deductible
My goldendoodle boy had a SBO recently and after surgery and a total bill of over $1200 Nationwide upheld their end of our policy. The claim filling process was easy and true to their word they reimbursed the entire 90% minus our deductible. I would highly recommend this insurance to anyone with a new puppy. We have the whole pet and wellness and it’s well worth it!
