Insurance is a must

I signed up for pet insurance with Nationwide at the suggestion of a co-worker who has two dogs. I was having to take Paco to the vet for various small health issues and it was starting to add up. Shortly after I signed up, another dog attacked him while on a walk on a leash and Nationwide covered a lot of the vet expenses related to the injury. If i didn't have insurance it would have been a $2,000 bill on me. He has since had a bee sting, also covered by Nationwide. I definitely recommend getting insurance. Monthly premium is $35 and it covers most vet care (except for preventative--vaccines, flea meds, etc.) Nationwide was easy to get, has electronic claim form submissions and you can have them transfer reimbursement payment directly to your bank account. It takes about a month to get reimbursed, which is probably my only complaint. But otherwise, great insurance.

Thankful I chose Nationwide Pet insurance

I bought the wellness plan for each of my 3 dogs when the were just puppies and I am so glad I did. The peace of mind knowing that I can make the best medical decisions for them without the worry of cost is priceless. Nationwide has paid ever claim promptly without issue even though one of my pups has had many medical issues. Thank you for partnering with me to give them the best care possible.

Nationwide is such a great pet insurance provider!

Signing up for Nationwide Pet Insurance is one of the best things we have done. Filing the claims from our vet is extremely easy and payment is typically sent within 3-4 weeks.

Glad our pups are insured.

We have two older pups who have several health issues. Having pet insurance gives us the opportunity to give them the best possible health care.

Well Worth the Money

I've always been impressed with this pet insurance. It has always been well worth the money. They always come through, especially in emergency situations/surgeries and often pay 100% in these situations! I don't have to argue about coverage. They just cover expenses, as they claim, amazingly! My dog had to have two knee surgeries, which cost $5000 total. I paid about $20. Not to mention the countless emergency visits that can be a couple hundred dollars they've paid in full (chocolate ingestion, lacerations from animal attacks, etc). Absolutely fantastic services and WORTH THE INVESTMENT into your dog's health in emergency situations.

Useless. Will deny every claim and don’t cover well visits

Trupanion has charged me a fortune for my older dog that has never had any health issues. This past year and a half she had two and they denied both right away. The $66 I pay a month for years now doesn’t even get me well visits or vaccines. Not worth the money

Okay Insurance

I teter back and forth trying to decide if this insurance is worth it. Clifford’s last visit was for discharge from his penis and constant licking. He has never done this before. But it was not covered because again, we were told it was a pre existing condition. He has had allergic type occurances before, but never there. So I guess every time he has an itch or skin problem it’s not covered. I know this was in my contract that dermatology isn’t covered. Almost every other thing I have submitted, I have had to resubmit for one reason or another. For example, they wanted a copy of the prescription for Frontline Plus. There is no prescription for this! Plus dental. I could go on. We have to fight for every check we have gotten. We are keeping it for a while, but will re-evaluate this at the end of the year.
