Great Coverage But........
Nationwide pet insurance is amazing they cover most things without a problem, my pup has had surgery on both her hind legs due to ruptured cruciate ligaments and they paid majority of the cost which is a true blessing due to the cost ranged from $1,250 - $1,850 and I am on disability and am not able to work, and just don't have that kind of money to be throwing around. She is my E.S.A and I love her to death so I would do what ever I can to make sure she is in the best of health. My biggest issue with Nationwide pet insurance is that within 3 years (my pup is only 3 years old) my premium has been raised twice making the insurance almost not affordable. I have gone without multiple times just to make sure I am able to afford her insurance because without my pup I would not be able to function in everyday life and she deserves it. Now nationwide has me pinned down to their insurance because most insurance companies will not cover pre-existing injuries. This puts me in a rough place because she will need shots for the rest of her life to help with the pain she experiences from the surgeries. So I have to either stay with them or let her be in pain and I am just not willing to put her through that I would rather go without my medical prescriptions and risk my own health so that she can be healthy.

Best Dog Insurance Around
I've compared Pets Best with all the other dog insurances I could locate and they came out on top. Very pleased with their reviews and quick turn-around. Very courteous if you have any questions. I've been with them for about 3 years now and I would not change. Their service is awesome!

Super!
Great coverage. Cost went up $300 annually. Also, turnaround time on payment is too long. VPI was 10 days!

Good coverage, takes forever to get reimbursed.
Nationwide gives great coverage and seems to have covered every visit to the vet thus far. The one downside is that it has taken months to get reimbursements. But the coverage has paid for itself at this point, so overall positive.

We highly recommend pet insurance!
Our Great Dane is 10.5 years old and we have had pet insurance on her since we got her at 8 weeks old. It has been some of the best money we have ever spent! Thankfully not in all of her 10 years, but in quite a few of them, the pet insurance reimbursements have pretty much covered the yearly premium! We have a 5 year old Dane that we also have covered with Nationwide pet insurance. I recommend to all of our friends that they carry insurance on their pets, especially larger breeds. Our experiences have all been very positive--submitting claims is easy, and reimbursements are usually received within a couple of weeks. Highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance!

I like the service
I like the service but it became more expensive. We joined when Maxi was a puppy with the promise that because we enrolled early it wasn't going to increase the monthly charge which wasn't true at all

I was very disappointed
I was very disappointed that the $199 charge for a consultation that occurred DURING my dog's hospitalization was not covered. I understand that initial exams/consultations are not covered, this $199 charge was for the vet looking at my dog after she had spent a night in the hospital and checking her symptoms to determine if she could be discharged. That isn't what I thought would be covered by the exclusion for exams! When I called Trupanion for an explanation, the representative told me that if the hospital had simply billed for hospitalization as one line item rather than breaking it down into categories (including a line item for consultation) then it would have been covered. That doesn't make any sense! This kind of thing really decreases the amount of trust I put in Trupanion. I used to feel comfortable that if my dog had a more severe ailment we would be covered....now, I'm not sure what other loopholes might unexpectedly come up. Aside from that, the claim was processed quickly which I appreciated.
