Processing time slow, one submission via VitusVet apparently lost

Use VitusVet to submit claims. One claim for flea and tick and heart worm meds apparently lost in processing. Processing time is slow, but have to complaints so far on what has been covered.

Couldn’t own a dog without insurance

Nationwide has been there when I needed their help the most. You never know what crazy things a puppy or dog can get into when your not paying attention. Only had my puppy 12 weeks and she’s been to the emergency vet twice

You denied my claims

My claim was denied even though my dog Chis has a hereditary problem and you claim hereditary conditions are covered. Chis has hereditary bad knees/hips. I had to get my Lailie's back knees fixed because her toes turned in and she was constantly falling. Yet you denied my claim saying it was pre-existing condition. Well yeah it was hereditary, which you say you cover. So basically you lied about what you cover and I did the upgraded insurance coverage. I won't be renewing next year because quite frankly you suck and I'm very disappointed and will be letting the HR department at my company know you lie about your coverage.

Recovered from Rattlesnake Bite

Was very thankful that Trystan has a rattlesnake vaccine, we believe it actually saved his life. It was a tough week and there were days we thought he wasn’t going to make it. He’s doing well now and back to his normal. Having to worry less about the expenses made having the pet insurance well worth it.

Boo Loves Nationwide

We love Nationwide. I have recommended Nationwide to everyone I know. Our Shih Tzu, Boo is covered, and our beloved golden, Fred, was also covered up until his death in May of last year. In fact, when Fred was diagnosed with cancer, we relied on our Nationwide coverage to help with his diagnosis(s) and emergency vet visits. Boo is our number one priority, and vet care is expensive. Because we have Nationwide insurance, Boo will always be up-to-date on his exams, shots, etc. In fact, Boo's vet said he was in "remarkable" shape for his age! We will always have Nationwide coverage to make sure Boo is well-cared for!

Nationwide Knocks It Out Of The Park

I wish that making a claim to my own personal health insurer (insert very big company name here), were as easy, efficient, bs-free, and with swift no-fuss-payment… as it is Every Time with my dog’s Nationwide policy. Thanks for making one little thing in life, headache-free.

The process for submitting claims needs to be improved.

I originally starting using this pet insurance when it was VPI about 13 years ago. A few times my claim has been delayed weeks to almost a month due to the fact that my scans were not readable. Most claims are processed in 2 weeks. If they are not, I call to make sure my documents are readable. One of the recent claims the documents were not readable. I found out on day 18 of submitting claim. On day 16 or 17 I called to make sure the docs were readable. I was put on hold while phone rep checked. She came back on the phone and said they were readable. On finding out on day 18 about the docs I resubmitted to a supervisor my documents. She send me email saying they were readable. From then it took another 3 almost 4 weeks to process claim. During the process emailed supervisor and called customer service to have this claim accelerated because of your mistake. Supervisor never emailed me back and CS said they would notify supervisor. A few weeks later my claim was declined because it was classified as a duplicate claim. I was extremely mad. I called to get this straightened out. Finally someone looked at this claim and accelerated the process which in a few days I had my reinbursement deposited to my checking account. I'm now waiting for two more claims to be processed. It's been about 10 days. I will be calling next week to make sure the docs are readable. If a claim can be processed and completed in 2 weeks; then I should be able to get notified in less than a week if my scanned documents are not readable.

Thank you

Thank you for the prompt review of my claim & support. I never had pet insurance before but now I can't imagine not having it. My baby girl Madison seems to always be 'getting into things' and I can now give her the best treatment possible knowing I have Nationwide to help.
