Easy process.
It was very easy to submit the claims for Cotton's visits to date. I broke even with the vet bills which is good.

Trupanion is essential........
My 7 y/o American Bully is the greatest joy of my (and my family) life!!!! She is the sweetest, smartest, most wonderful dog from day 1. She has previously had (2) cruciate ligament repairs; urinary incontinence ),maintaining on medication), and elbow dysplasia (maintaining on medication-no surgery yet). I can truly say that I don't know what I would have done w/o Trupanion!!! She is healthy (79 lbs) and going strong!!! Yes, the premiums can seem expensive; however, when I weigh it against the costs we have already incurred, and the on-going treatment plans...as well as looking ahead to the future, it is a true blessing to have Trupanion!!! We want her to live forever!!!!! My joy is taking care of her!!! This is my first experience with pet insurance and I can honestly say that I have NO REGRETS!!! I have my beloved dog!!!!

There when I needed it!
Recently, 3 of my cats were in 3 different hospitals for a variety of reasons. 3 surgeries were required (after batteries of tests in all instances). The total cost was around $25,000. It was very stressful for me but it was also great to know I could tell the vets to do whatever was necessary, without having to worry about the cost. ASPCA paid the claims within 2 weeks of submission. They've been great and I'm happy to say, all 3 cats are doing well also.

Excellent experience!

I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED IN NATIONWIDE FROM REVIEW I HAD READ, BUT I HAVE BEEN PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.
NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE HAS BEEN SO GREAT TO COVER NOT ONLY EMERGENCIES, BUT A LOT OF WONDERFUL WELLNESS BENEFITS THAT HELP MY TESSA DOG TO STAY HEALTHY AND HAPPY. I KNOW THEY HAVE ME COVERED TO HELP WITH EXPENSIVE VET VISITS, SO OUR FAMILY ONLY NEEDS TO LOVE AND ENJOY OUR PETS.

This is why we have pet insurance!
Like most insurance you pay for, you hope to never have to use it. For the average well visits, etc, having insurance has not been much of a help, but when our dog developed gastrointestinal issues which necessitated weeks’ worth of treatment including tests, IV fluids and medications, etc. and our bills added up to over $3000, we got 2/3 of that back after making our insurance claim. That was a huge help to us, and I am very satisfied and pleased with how Nationwide handled this. Thankfully she is fine now.

Not happy
I am not very happy that we were not reimbursed for our second visit to the eye specialist. We were reimbursed for our first visit and were asked to return. I will be looking into other insurance company’s. What if my fur baby had a terminal illness. Would we get help for that or just what you feel like helping with.

Who Was That Masked Man?
If anyone remembers the Lone Ranger TV series, he righted wrongs and rode off without taking credit. But Nationwide-you should take credit From the outset of coverage, claims handling for our somewhat accident-prone Princess Doobs (Lucky Doobie-perhaps a misnomer) remains stellar. She's 3 yrs and 7 mos now and coverage started at 12 weeks of age, so that's a good time frame in which to present a consistent track record, which Nationwide has done. Prompt, easy, and with follow-up. Beats my healthcare coverage, leaving us to ask, "Who was that masked man?". Instead of the TV answer of someone saved, "Does this silver bullet tell you anything?" Dobbie's folks say, "Does this prompt & direct deposit reimbursement tell you anything?" It does. Hooray Nationwide.
